Cops that are afraid of dogs shouldn't be allowed to go into peoples homes. PERIOD! He was very wrong, and I hope he pays for it!

It is a shame that this officer did not due his due diligence to make sure that someone was not home before he shot "THE DOG THAT LIVED THERE". I think that this is a case of shoot first and make the paperwork work. I can not believe the P.I.O. does not even comment on this matter. SHAME SHAME SHAME on Cobb County. I am glad I do not live there.

this cop needs to be fired. or further more charged with animal cruelty. He is a coward and Im so sorry for Mr. Kings loss. This was his best friend. Please fire him - he may shoot a human next.

Cop should be fired. He did not know if a child could have been in the house close to the dog.
Labs are not aggressive and shame on this cop.

This poor dog was trying to alert/protect its owner. Police officers should get better training on how to deal with animals. I have 2 dogs and know that they would run out barking at any stranger who opened the door. Most of the police crime deterrent websites say that one of your best home defenses is a large barking dog. I am very sorry for the owner. I know that his heart is broken as mine would be.

A Justice for Luke Facebook page has been started and is growing fast. Please cross post and also email the Cobb County Authorities so this doesn't happen again! With just an email you can help change policy and save lives!

Why does this NOT surprise me??? This is the typical Cobb County attitude!! They think they are better than everybody else with their holier than thow attitude. The officers knew the home owner was there!!! Why did they go to a back door?? If this is their protcol, it definitely needs some updating! Cobb Police think they are a gestapo and can do anything they want. If I was a citizen of Cobb County, I would be ashamed and angry at their police dept and demand some answers! This is apalling! If you are afraid of a barking dog, you definitely don't need to be a police officer. I love the way they put words in peoples mouths like they tried to with the neighbor. Nice try in shifting the blame! If I was Mr. King, I would definitely get me an attorney!! I am a police officer myself and feel Cobb Police are out of line again. I have had a few dealings with Cobb Police during my career and except for a very few, their attitudes totally suck!

Protect yourself against Cobb County police. As long as they refuse to apologize or change their policies, then treat them the same way you would treat anyone else who enters your home with the intention to shoot your pet or your children.

If that's how they want to play, then lets play according to their rules.
