I was just wondering a few things. He was given supervised probation for ONE year and he is suppose to be home between the hours of 6 pm and 6 am SEVEN days a week -- right?? That means Studer should NEVER be seen out in public after 6 pm...no parties, school functions, etc???

Also, they are having HIM prepare and address bullying!?! I question how much impact he will have on addressing this topic. Maybe he can make some valid points but really, was this a way to inconvenience him more than making him address his "issues". Counseling should have been a must, this would've been a way for him to address any "issues" he has been dealing with.

Finally, it is being "said" that Joe intends on finishing up his senior year early. IF he does this and moves away, how will they know if he is obeying his 6 pm - 6 am curfew?

I hope Joe makes an honest effort to apologize for his actions; not just write an "essay" expecting a passing grade. This is the one time he'll be able to put the words to paper, addressing his wrong-doing without the entire community knowing what he says to the victim. He won't be trying to impress his "friends" by intimidating another person or threatening them. A sorry should come from your heart.

Yes Joe is supposed to be "home" between the hours of 6 PM and 6 AM. So he shouldn't be anywhere else during those hours without approval from his probation officer. No parties, no school functions.

If he finishes his senior year early I believe there is a chance he could move away. But he would need to have his 20 hours of community service finished, write his apology to the victim and finish his presentation on bullying and demonstrate that he can follow the terms of his probation.

He's got a lot of things he would have to get in order. It's up to him to make those choices. Hopefully he can turn this around.

Thank you, I appreciate you taking time to tell me. I wasn't for sure and I didn't want to speculate.

It was stated very early on in the case the victim had to seek medical treatment. I believe I also read that his father stated in court there could be some permanent damage. Sounds to me like there are medical bills.

I don't know that he got off easy that curfew is like being in jail to an eighteen year old. And I think the thing to remember here is he is the only one who was man enough to take any responsability here. He did not do this by himself and he is the only one getting punished. As an outsider looking in, it looks like you could cut him a little brake and worry a little more about those that got away scott free.

I agree, he did take responsibility. But he was there, he could take care of the problem about those that got away scott free, we aren't carrying that load for him. We weren't the ones there, HE was.

I wouldn't call Joe a "man" e.g; "man enough"

If he really were "man enough" he would have told the truth in court and we would be seeing others involved here.

Lets not hold him up in some sort of limelight, he is a criminal, a damn lucky one too.

Am amazed by the people that think the 6P-6A curfew was too harsh. They think it's "just not fair". Come on people!

You have never spent an hour in jail have you? He is a criminal he should have been punished as such. 6am-6pm curfew is not jail.

I believe it's a Dodge Nitro. It's only a matter of time and he will be in the wrong place at the wrong time and then get to go to JAIL.

Just thought I'd throw out there that the "victim" was kicked out of the homecoming dance for dancing innappropriate on another student that didnt appreciate this. He also recieved some sort of punishment from the school. Now you don't see this in the news.
