I would like some feedback on what you think is important when choosing a church. What things should one consider when deciding where to worship? Is denomination important? Is music style important? Is the preaching style important? List any and all things in YOUR opinion of how to choose a church.

There is no need to attend a church that is full of hypocites that lead you in different directions.

Just study the bible, believe in the lord, do not sin at all, pray all the time and you are good to go.

Peace be with you.

I would choose the old paths, old fashioned preaching, old fashioned singing from the great hymns of the faith song book, a pastor who will get in your face and preach the hell out of you. I disagree with the comment of not going to church. You can't live a holy and seperated life apart from the local church. But you need to choose the right church, no contemporary junk or any of the new ooey, gooey make me feel good crowd will work.

If you find a church that doesn't have any hypocrites in it - you're in Heaven already and the rest doesnt' matter.

The belief you choose IS important. Not everyone does it by God's word.
One God, one baptism, one Church.

Study - visit different congregations.
Music is important too. Sing and make melody in your heart.

BEST of luck and I'll be praying for you. I don't know your name but God does.

Can anyone live sin free?
Don't think so. You sin each day, the goal is to strive to be Christ like. We fail each day but we must get up and try again. The reward is well worth the fight.

No one can live sin free however many people use sin as a crutch.(Well everyone does it)(nobodys perfect)(I'll do better tomorrow). God says when you sin, repent and go and sin no more. Yes we all sin daily whether it be a ugly word, ugly thought, or hate in our hearts. Thats why you repent and try to do better next time. You cant continue to make bad choices just because you know God will forgive you. There will always be consequences, because God doesn't reward sin.
Church is important in order to grow as a Christian. We need to be around people who encourage good behavior and to learn more about God. We need to study Gods word to know what he says because the bible warns of false prophets. I agree with saved1, you need to be in a God fearing church. No sugar coated preaching. There are alot of churches out there but they are not all of God.

Sounds like you've been to alot of bad churches. You can't enter Heaven by the things you do like study, believe, not sin, pray. Your not good to go! The bible says you can only enter the kingdom of Heaven when you go through Jesus to get there. Meaning being born again. Asking Jesus to come into your heart. Make sure that what your saying is of God because if its not the bible says those people you tell this stuff to, their blood will be on your hands.

The most over-used, over-rated, inappropriately used word I am hearing is "religion". You can be religious about anything. Look up the definition. Religion has nothing to do with "Salvation". Look that up in the Bible if you are truly interested. Salvation from eternal damnation is what we all seek and this happens only one way - through the acceptance of God's only son, Jesus Christ. There are thousands of religions, faiths, demoninations, beliefs, etc, but only ONE SAVIOR. No one lives above sin, but if you truly want to know the difference from the sinner who has never accepted Jesus Christ and someone who has, read what the Bible says about it or at least ask a minister or pastor for help to understand the difference. You are still in the dark, my friends.

No one has ever been saved by just asking Jesus to come into their heart. the bible does not teach such as that, better read your bible. He that believes and is baptized .

Denomination is not in the Bible that I have found so I would say NOT important. To me they must teach what God's word tells us not opinion, and yes I think music is important it leads us into worhsip I prefer worship music not the old stuff. I also think being friendly and inviting to strangers is a must

There's no place for piano's in church services.
Everyone should sing together.
People who leave a congragation over petty things are petty themselves.
Those who stay out of church because of the "hypocrits" are only making excuses. There was only one perfect man and he is now in Heaven.
It takes money to upkeep the building, pay a minister, buy materials, do God's work in the church and community. The customary 10% is not given by most.

Guilt is the most powerful thing to keep someone away from church.

If you are a christian or want to make a change in your life for the better you should read and study the word of God. It's really NOT rocket science.

If you are a non-believer I'm not sure what to tell you. I've never understood how someone can't see the work of God all around them. Evolution and big bang just never made any sense to me. Why did evolution stop and why hasn't there been another big bang?
I'm not condeming anyone, it's not my job, it's not my desire.

Evolution hasn't stopped, just takes millions of years, the universe is still expanding, so how could God make everything in six days. I'm not a non believer are a believer. I simply don't know. I think most people fear going to hell more than they want to go to heaven. The human brain is a complex thing, hard for me to believe that the brain evolved.

I haven't attended church in this town in years and years and will likely never return to one unless a progressive Episcopal congregation establishes itself here.
