No, it's not. Maybe people are just getting sick and tired of reckless, irresponsible drivers fudging up our commutes.

If he was ejected from the vehicle, it means he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. So, he was in the wrong either way.

my thoughts exactly - who leaves at 2AM to go somewhere with family?
5AM to beat rush on the Belt but 2 in the morning?

something is fishy, either that or Newsday has the facts wrong, which is probably the case here.

Harsh is an understatement - sick is more like it. I see they deleted his comment - the fool should watch Scrooge a few more times - it's surplus, not surface. Either way the guy is an idiot.

Why? Do people need a reason to be out at night? Should he have check with you for permission? Perhaps he owns a business and that's when he goes to work.
And learn how to spell...it's home (no i) and it's Route 111 - not 11.

so you think it is perfectly normal for someone to take their family to work with them, and the fact that in this case it was 2 in the morning is normal?

you must be a lawyer....only a lawyer comes up with beauties like that one.......and gets ruffled with minor typo's on a "talk back" board.

It's not their fault they crashed. Both the curb and the tree shouldn't have been there. Let the lawsuits begin!
