Judge clears Trenton man in shotgun killing of father

A judge in southern Illinois has cleared a man in the shotgun killing of his father last year, ruling that the suspect was mentally ill at the time.

I don't think Bill would want to have taken vengance on his mentally ill son, or would want the court to, either, if he could come back from the dead right now and comment on it. Bill was my bud, too. Of COURSE Bill was a wonderful man. Had his son gone sonewhere else and shot someone else, there would have been bad comments about his parenting skills. That would have been equally unfair.
If one has a mentally ill family member in Illinois, one cannot force them to take medication for it. Thank you NAMI (national association of the mentally ill), you bunch if crazy jerks, for that law and all the other crazy ones you got passed.
