Because more and more houses are going up for sale and selling for less and less so the jack asses on the school board feel they will squeeze the remaining turnips for more blood, if these folks would have put all the efforts that were put in to the "coal mining our future" to getting more coal severance tax money people of this area sould have been fighting a whole lot hard to get this money for our school so we can teach our kids and grand kids with coal mining our past money. And many of these fine school boards members live outside of city so they feel they can stand high and might by screwing us for more money plan and simple, hey why not make all school board members living outside city to go and head "in good faith" and pay the city taxes also.

Why does every topic on this stupid forum have to turn into a discussion about coal mining or become a slander fest?

I believe it was our elected democrats like beshear, steele, etc, that decided it was best to give it to counties that never had the "luxury" of being a coal town. let's give them the break they deserve!

I tell you, it would probably be for the best if some stores did close up, then others could do better business, and keep money in hazard.

In answer to post # 1 , all Fashion Bug Stores will be liquidated and closed by Feb-1-2013 -Over 600 total , app. 300 beginning procedures now -Sad that lots of folks will lose their jobs , while some top echelon bigwheels are getting upwards of 200K as retention bonuses - This can be etched in concrete - My family is part of the soon to be unemployed group -But , when one door closes , 2 more open -

Would LOVE to be able to have a decent conversation without coal mining being brought into it. If have of Hazard wasn't on dope maybe some business would thrive better, coal doesn't have anything to do with anything. Take your whining elsewhere, just because you have to start living like the rest of us doesn't mean Hazard is going to be a ghost town, the rest of us and the rest of the country are doing just fine. Grow up and stop living beyond your means and stop cramming coal down everyone's throat!! This is a thread about freaking stores not coal!

You can look for a lot more stores being closed soon. Without these coal mine jobs people just can't pay these store prices. Dollar general, Big lots, Dollar tree, they don't have anything to worry about, their business will be picking up.
