There are stories like Mae Phillips in every small town in america. why is Mae Phillips so unique? Could it be that Ms. Eagletree needed a topic for a book report and being the type person she is, she went looking?

I found this book nothing more than the writings of a taped conversation with a person who had a hard life, as did a lot of people. Too bad the photos weren't in black and white- would have been a lot more interesting.

The photo's are in black and white. Did you really read the book? Who is your problems with Mae Phillips or the this Ms. Eagletree? I think you should only speak in high regards to Ms. Phillips considering she is dead and can't defend herself. This world is full of sick people just like Ms. Smith and Ms. Tyrie. If more people loved each other and our neighbors, like Mae Phillips. THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE. If Mae couldn't say anything good, she wouldn't say anything at all. She had nothing but the ability to work hard and help her neighbors. Her life was rough but she loved people. You should really read the book and take some lessons from her.
