The food at this place sucks bad!! These people and others in town all think they can cook mexican food when all it realy is just blan horrible garbage made to humble a fried food southern palet. Who ever heard of everything being ground beef!! Steak or real beef flavored with chilie powder and cheese sauce slopped all over everything. You people really need to make a trip to Mexico where real mexican eat or go to Southern Ca or New Mexico for some real food. Don't get me started on the Tex Mex garbage where they make everything sweet to kill the flovor of something that is too spicey for a white people to eat. Go to Taco Bell at least the food is cheaper and tastes better than this place or the one around the corner!! Taco Bell uses meat out of a squeeze tube you moron.

Go to Taco Bell at least the food is cheaper and tastes better than this place or the one around the corner!! Wow....what a nasty review.....with horrible grammar none the less. What's cookin' offers an option of meats (taco meat, which is made of hamburger everywhere in the world, steak or chicken). To compare them to Taco Bell is nothing but an insult, which speaks to your obvious taste.....you rant and rave about quality Mexican food and compare theirs to Taco Bell???? You just spoke for yourself, and your obvious ignorance. I also would challenge you to find a better meal, a better portion, at a better price, anywhere in south Arkansas.....I am sure they would appreciate you going to Mexico, or Taco Bell, and keeping your opinion to yourself!

We were expecting the meat to have the good marinade that Fajita Hill used, but it was not that good, not marinated, dry and the veggies were only cook a little, still crunchy :) We were very disappointed in our meal but enjoyed looking at the decor....it will probably be a long time before we go back. We can cook better chicken breast and burgers on our George Foreman grill.....and save money also. well next time take your cheap butt back to your house and cook on ur george foreman. nobody begged you to eat there :)

As far as the grammar is concerned, we all get in a hurry in our typing on these damn keyboards. I taught for 26 years and I still make mistakes. People out there are trying to make us happy--they are trying to make a difference in this f---ed up world. If they mess up a taco, don't beat them up for it. One of my best friends works there, and I know she is working her ass off to make people happy. I know that's all we can do for humanity.

Well I was talked into going to this place again...give it another try they said. Well it still sucks. A comparison to Taco bell is what this place deserves because that's all it can compare too. My ignorance ok what ever, I can open a can of spam and make a better meal out of it that these people. Who the heck make guacamole sweet?? These people do, who the heck makes salsa so sweet you can't taste anything but sugar? These people do. Who the heck makes a beef taco or anything else and serves it with some powered spices still coated on it and clumpy.....yep these people do......ohh and where do you and order a taco salad and get asked "what kind of dressing do you want".......at this place!!
I have never complained about the service or the people working there. These guys need to pull their heads out of their butts and make food that tastes good and get the sweet out of everything they make and try to call Mexican. The place is nice and the beer is cold, the service friendly and the owners are friendly. I just wish they could cook. Fajita Hill was a monstrosity people!! As was Tiger Harry’s, those people could not keep a floor clean and people were sick at the one in Eldorado and this place copies the food items from there what a horrid mistake.
They really should take a trip to other establishments out side of South Arkansas to see how Mexican is prepared. They would then understand that fresh everything makes the meal and in the long run anything Tex-Mex is not real Mexican food. Tex-Mex is food Mexican made for white people that could not handle the flavors and would not pay for or accept the time it takes to make a real Mexican plate. If you like Tex-Mex then your teeth are going to fall out because the sugar used in started to be used because it was masking old meat and vegetables that were give to Mexicans working ranches in Texas.....they did with what they had and for some reason this place thinks more sweetness in the food is better. It's way over done. If this placed teamed with Alans they might get something that works. Alans knows fresh but can't cook worth darn and they don't have any Tex-Mex garbage at Alans.
Wake up people this place is another option at the moment, an option that is closely tied to Taco Bell in flavor and freshness.....right now my option is Taco Bell over What's Cookin. Now if you want good food and a great steak look no further than the Sand Bar. It has the best Steak in the western hemisphere and I am lucky it's right in my own back yard
Ya hit me on my grammar, you people that think this place has good food have never been to anyplace that does serve really good food and the other place in Town Guadalajara, it serves slop also and I know why. I asked them why they serve dishes the way they do. They told me because that’s what people here want, Mexican food with no real Mexican flavors and with cheese sauce slopped all over it. Umm so whom is ignorant, certainly not the guy trying to make some garbage to serve to people that know nothing about what’s being cooked, it the people eating the food and calling it good because that’s all their limited palette can handle over and above frying everything in batter then covering it in cheese sauce.

We try to please everyone, but it sounds like you couldn't be pleased if someone chewed up your food and spit it in your mouth.

You say they should team up with "Alans," also known as "Allen's," but all they do is open cans and pour the contents into warming trays. I've seen it done. The day after the "Mexican" buffet, they may serve it again if there's any left. I've also seen that done.
Everything I've eaten at What's Cookin has been excellent. No, it's not authentic Mexican, but nowhere around here is. Another thing is that it's not a "MEXICAN" restaurant. That section of the menu may be about 1/3 of the total offerings. The food is also made to order. Try something else--people around here could use more salads and vegetables, etc. As for their asking your choice of a dressing--that's just them trying to please everyone. You can see where this may be a problem, what with the comments I've seen on this thread.
The place is still packed almost constantly. I don't think the one or two negative comments are having much impact. This is a restaurant from people of Camden, who did it FOR Camden, to liven up downtown, to give the people another choice. If you don't like it, just don't go. It's simple, really.

Better than going home and messing up my kitchen. Folks who don't like what they get when out can go home and cook. As for our family, we help out the economy in Camden by dining out at least three times. We are glad we can and that we have a choice of placed to go to.
Enjoy and go your merry way.

PS By the way, most of all our food comes out of a can or the frozen section. Not too many of us have the luxury of staying home and cooking all day from scratch. I for one am glad for any help in anyway I can get it after a long hard day's work and so is the rest of the family.

The food in Camden causes constipation. The food in El Dorado causes diarrhea. Bearden and Harmony Grove have nothing to offer. What's a person to do?

Go on a diet or start up the fires in your own kitchen.
Buy some cook books, open your own restaurant, open a few cans yourself, take a laxative,
or just stop complaining and find a hobby
