Dumb for ordering book

United States

#273 Feb 7, 2013
We ordered the $50.00 booklet (mistake). WASTE of money! I'm telling ya! They included in the book all kinds of non accredited companies with bogus numbers to call plus 2 order forms for two of the companies.(guessing complementary), their wanting you to send THEM money for assembling THEIR products and they will "reimburse you". saying you can make 720.00 weekly for assembling beaded bookmarks and $525.00 weekly sewing baby bibs. Which by the way they put a special touch on the end of the order form that 1/2 of the proceeds goes to Battered Women's Shelters. SMH!!!! If you want to take a chance on products you paid to make and with a GREAT chance of the companies REJECTING orders that are completed go ahead and take the chance. HOPE your new venture works out! GOOD luck to you who that order!

OK, so Im reading all this stuff about this company being a scam, however, everyone is mad at the company that sold them the book . This makes no sense , people are lazy and want to blame anyone they can if they dont just get a magical paycheck handed to them with out doing work. So I did called the peoples lifesyle , they were helpfull with all my questions, yes all my questions. They told me about the fee to get the book and about the companies, yes the companies that you assemble things for that they will charge a deposit, becasue they have problems with people keeping their merchandise. So its a deposit that you do get refunded to you on your paycheck when you return the products that are assembled.

I want to know who did this company and assembled stuff and then didnt get paid? That is the real question, and should be the only issue at hand , right if they are the people who are suppose to pay you, not peoples lifestyle.

Very nice phone people. Got cut off accidentally I'm sure and before calling back to pay I read these threads. There is no way I can pay them now that I see they obviously have people that post/posted positives on here to counter the negatives. Very sad. Good luck to everyone that spent $50

Dear Amy,
As a former employee of peoples lifestyle I can tell you for a fact that I know that the companies in the book are all fake and are all a part of the scam, that begins with the book, also the people who work there, the managers and the owners all know and they DONT care. They have figured out a way to get around the system and stay in business despite scamming people for over 25 years. As a operator there I recieved both calls for people inquiring about the book and calls from people who had ordered the book and were not satisfied. The type of calls I would get were,I tried to contact this company several times,I never got an answer.Or i contacted this company they asked me to send money for materials for a sample product to assemble,I sent it,I assembled it,I sent it back, they said it wasnt assembled right, send another fee for another sample to assemble, they did it again and still the company rejected it,and it would go on until they quit sending more money for sample products to assemble. The most I heard of was one person trying it was 3 times.Other calls were of people who had made it through the sample assembly and than sent for their supplies for the products to assemble, recieved them, sent them in and the company writing them and saying that the products they sent were not good enough to sell so they werent going to get paid for them, they never got paid or received the products back.Others were calls about companies that listed in the book that no longer existed. Now heres how they get away with not giving you your money back:The guarantee is very specific, the only way you can receive your money back for ordering the book is if you recieve a letter of rejection from one of the companies in the book.Well guess what? The companies in the book will never send you a rejection letter because they are working with the company that sells the book, they dont make money if people dont buy the book because than noone sends them a fee for there junkie product to try an assemble.its all a vicious cycle of scamming.Everyone at the company knows its all fake and they dont hide the fact from the employees except when you first start there because they dont want you to leave right away, they put you through training, make you think your working for a real company and than once your there for awhile you start catching on,you get the complaint phone calls, you start talking to people who work there, you find out from the managers, and everyone knows but they stay because they want the money. And if you want money enough you stay too even after you find out,but after awhile if you have any heart or morals you cant and you leave.Only the really bad ones stay, others leave as soon as they find out or as soon as they get another job. They always keep an ad for hiring in the paper, year round, because they cant keep people.Would you work there?Would you stay knowing u were taking the last bit of money of someone whos desperate for a job with a family to take care of?I wouldnt and didnt.Dont buy the book.

This company is the biggest rip off. They are simply selling a book of listing of companies that you can supposedly make money from while working from home.

Well the book cost money and it worthless because the companies it lists also require you to buy materials ( a sample kit, to test your ability to assemble things) and then they reject your work as sub par so you lose money there as well.

There is no money back guarantee from "People's Lifestyle" because they require you to get a letter from the company who who ejected your work.

So People's Lifestyle is making money off of you, the scam artist "work from home" companies are making money on their bogus sample kits.

It is a complete ripoff. Oh, and any positive responses about this company are posted by employees of "people's lifestyle".

Don't waste your money on this ripoff company, they are a total scam!!!

I have looked up numerous companies up that claim to give you assembly jobs to do at home. They all seem to be scams. Mostly, what happens, is you buy products from them (they say they will pay you x amount $ for a particular amount) you make them, you send them, and they don't like how you did them. They are not up to par. Scam, Scam, Scam!!!

Hello, I talked to a lady today at Life Style and she told me the same thing that everyone else is saying about the deposit. I'm going to give it a try but I'm gonna put the money in an money order or request C.O.D. She also said that I can make from 300-500 dollars a week if I send the products out as required. If any one happens to get any positive results back please email me at lisajulius4@yahoo.com. Will appreciate it.

Thank You!

Dear Lisa, you just wasted your hard earned money. It is a scam, you wont make 300 to 500 dollars a week.I tried it and found out all the companies in the book were a scam.Noone ever gets a job or paid. Also, you wont get your money back because the money back guarentee states"If any of the companies REFUSES you work in writing than you will get your money back" well guess what?None of the companies refuses you work in writing. They just never actually pay you because they just keep sending you products to assemble that you send them ANOTHER deposit for and than when you send them back they tell you they cant pay you for them because you didnt assemble them right. Its a constant cycle but they didnt "REFUSE' you the work in writing. So guess what Peoples Lifestyle NEVER has to give you the money back.Dont believe me?Try calling them and telling them that one of the companies "refused"you work and see what happens.

I feel like l am obligated in trying to help people who are currently down on their luck or are just in need of extra income to overcome these financial obstacles.
At the very least - do yourself a favor and take 5 minutes of your time and look into this opportunity. It may be something to help your situation or it may not.
Itís truly up to you! I can almost guarantee you will not find a more lucrative opportunity than this one on the Internet. This opportunity can provide you with a steady paycheck of at least $380 a Week or more working your own hours from Home.
I can assure you there are very few work at home opportunities out there - if any - without having a pipe dream in hopes of finding that dream job where you can actually make a good income working from home.
This opportunity offers an above average income to live a normal life without having to worry about where the next check is coming from to pay your bills or enjoy the things we have always dreamed of doing.
I know from my experiences firsthand it is very difficult to find legitimate companies to work for at home and there are obviously many scams all over the Internet advertising work at home opportunities.
I have worked for and promoted this company for 3 years since I lost my job over 3 years ago. To my amazement - I have made more money working at home for this company than I ever made working a regular 8 to 5 job. Not to mention the commuting time and the money I save everyday on gas.
No experience is necessary ... this company is an AAA Certified Distributor who represents several Fortune 500 Companies. No special tools or skills are required and everything is provided for you to start making money right away.

http://www.workfromhomepro.com/assembly_work_...

"There are also companies online that offer a directory of assembly work at home companies or access to a directory of work from home jobs. These directories will usually cost about $35 and just have a list of different companies that also require a start up fee!

Please don't fall for those type of scams.

There are real work from home directories and although they will require a fee, they will not include the typical scams inside.

Always follow your gut feeling and make sure you do all research needed to prove that a company or directory is legit.

If you get even the slightest feeling that you shouldn't give someone money then Don't!"

This is a ripoff. They change the cell number so that you can not get in contact after they have taken your money. I sent the book back like they said and have not gotten my money back.
