We have all heard the tune. I think it would be fun, educational and reminising to think of all the past business's of Slidell. Let's try to limit one or two per post. I still miss the old Curve Inn.

Reminising about a small town like Slidell which didn't become a city until I was in high school is..... fun. Remember downtown Slidell, Curve Inn, Newhausers, Doucet's Jewelry, White Kitchen, Davis Inn, Ben Franklin, the old jail where everyone from around Slidell came for drinking water, etc etc. Those were the good times.

Dang, how about the purple pickle, or even the Frost Top. Floyed Fogg kept the ol' Tiger Drive inn going a long time.....great po boys. Curve inn, Thonn's, Check inn check out, all had great po boys. Where can you find a "real" roast beef po boy now days? They all use that pre-cooked stuff, like deli roast beef..........

This is not to be taken as criticism. I am simply making a post to set the record straight. Floyd Fogg owned and operated the Frost Top. His brother Milton was owner and operator of The Tiger Drive In. Hope this helps and if anyone has a different memory of this than I, please let us know.

Well I stand to be corrected, but seems like Floyd had it towards the end....or maybe he was just running it, either way, ain't there no more! I would still like to find a place that cooks their own roast beef for po boys.

What was the name of the motel on Pontchartrain Drive where the first McDonald's Hamburgers was? Mr. Nick Sansone was the owner. Next door to Slidell Hardware.

Did y'all know that the Shrimp Box is back that used to be on Front Street only this time it is on Robert Blvd hidden in a corner and I keep forgettin bout it when I want a PoBoy...coarse mine at home is better than theirs and way cheaper...pricing does need some work...but good for a fast shrimp attack.

I still have the old bar. It is located in Hot Springs, AR in one of my warehouses. We restored it and put in in Catfish Corrals and brought it here when we moved.
