Could it simply have been a case of miscommunication and mistaken identity? Imagine if you wee on that little boat and were completely innocent with no bad intent. You come across a heavily armed vessel and you don't know what they are saying to you. What do you do? Turn around and start fleeing (that would make you look guilty and they would probably fire at you) or do you approach them to show them you are unarmed and have no bad intent (this is probably what they were trying to do). I worry about this type of attitude from the military. Fear everything and shoot at anything indiscriminantly, this is the type of thing that escalates into major conflicts. The situation there is tense already, cooler heads must prevail and the navy soiling their pants over a little speedboat is a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?
These Iranian speed boats harrassing huge navy ships are really harmless unless there was a swarm of them poised to attack, otherwise I believe they are nothing more than patrol boats trying to tell the big bully to back off. That's really how I assess the situation, anything else is fear mongering and I think is geared toward puttting us into war. I believe that within the next three months there will be war over there, and they are prepared for it already. This summer has been relatively quiet, like the quiet before the storm. The storm is quickly approaching as we speak, and who do you think is the aggressor in this case? We should just get the heck out of there and defend our borders, and let Israel fight their own battle. Going to war would be suicide for this country right now. We already have economic depression, and with the drought throughout the major portion of the US we will soon be faced with a major food shortage. War coupled with this will bring us to the brink of societal collapse.

Interesting and I tend to agree.I didn't think that little boat had much to do with Iran, but after the USS Cole bombing I can see why they would react like that. Rule of thumb would be, if you are in a little fishing boat and see a huge US warship...STAY AWAY! lol

I have always said that if you dig deep enough into any so called "terrorist" attack in the last 1/2 century, you seem to find Israel and their Mossad somewhere in the mix....

The reason why I wanted to bring this attack on the USS Cole as possibly being a false flag to light is due to the fact that the criminal state of Israel may be planning right now to conduct a false flag operation using their Dolphin submarines against another American target!

Answer: Obama does not want a war right before the election. He would try to hold Israel off. But, Iran would want this war before the election, if they do not like Obama.

Yes, Iran does care about who is president. That is why they held the hostages...to make sure Carter lost.

Iran's leaders want this war. To wipe out Israel, bring the U.S. to its knees, restore Palestine, and take over the temple mount (al-Qods...and Iranian special forces so named the "Qods Force"...Yes, Iran wants Jerusalem!) would incite the Muslim world behind Iran, unite the Shia and Sunni, bring their Mahdi to front stage, and flags would go up on all four corners of the earth.(Just to name a few lol).

Russia has been helping Iran for 30 years. I just found out that China has been helping Iran for 30 years as well. I felt a little betrayed by that. Recently, China was caught selling sensitive parts to Iran and congress is trying to decide what we should do about it...um, no business with China? What would be left on the shelves? Well, in reality, I guess that would force the USA to put some things on those empty shelves.

I am not sure who will pull the trigger first. I believe the trigger will be Syria. That follows what Iran preaches about prophecy and Hezbollah and Iran already back the Syrian government...like all big wars before, it will take place in a country other than their own. Russia, China, and the US will duke it out in Syria.

Hope for the best is all we have. It is the civilians that get stuck with the aftermath.

I have. I stand with the Iranian people, NOT the brutal Iranian government. I did not get my information from the media, but from people who live in Iran (old, young, and in the middle).
