Otto has cut her budget by a million dollars including eliminating the Deputy function all the while increasing the number of audits.

Anderson was rejected by the voters before and failed in her bid for the MN-GOP nomination for Governor ... she seems like a career politician looking to stay on the public payroll.

Anderson made hundreds of millions of dollars in errors. Otto won the national excellence in accountability award. They could not be in starker contrast.

Anderson filed a complaint against Otto for saying she was three times as productive. Then Otto produced evidence that she was FOUR times as productive!

Anderson advocated for cutting Local Government Aid by 43% and said Libraries and Parks and Public Health are non-essential services. Not our property taxes are up by 102% thanks to LGA cuts. We are getting less and paying more thanks to Anderson's activist approach.

The role of Auditor is to perform audits, something that Pat Anderson has done in the past, with great diligence and efficiency. Ms Otto is surprisingly lax in her view of the position. Lets elect an Auditor that we can find, I quite frankly am tired of playing the "where's Otto" game.

Anyone that can merge two governmental agencies, and live to tell about it, has demonstrated the character needed for this office and earned our support.

Clearly, Ms. Anderson knows how to keep government accountable.

Pat Anderson To Commit Her Expertise And The Resources Of The State Auditors Office To Helping Local And State Governments Cope With Looming Budget Cuts

“We must be responsible with our cuts”

October 11, 2010 — As we enter the final 22 days of the election, I think it is important that we focus on the issues of most concern to Minnesotans. To that end, over the next three weeks, I will be highlighting the role that the State Auditor can play in controlling reckless government spending.

“My experiences as Mayor, Commissioner, and Auditor have taught me a lot about the struggles of economic downturns and how to deal with them. Similarly, the staff of the State Auditor’s office has spent years, and in some cases decades, examining the details of state and local budgets. With this combined experience, we will work with communities across the state, using our expertise to help them govern efficiently and save taxpayer dollars,” said Anderson.

“Having served as Mayor, Commissioner and business owner during difficult economic times, I have had to make cuts in the face of reduced revenues. Each time, through thoughtful planning, we emerged stronger than before,” said Anderson.

“With a $5.8 billion deficit looming, we must make the tough decisions to balance our budget. At the same time, we must be responsible with our cuts, insuring we cut inefficiencies and not essential services. As your next State Auditor, I commit to be there for our local communities to provide the common sense, data driven advice that they need. Together, we will emerge more prosperous than ever,” said Anderson.

Otto has been an outstanding auditor. She is supervising spending by local governments, not spending her time on political grandstanding.
