i hope this doesn't turn out to be a murder/sucide ending.

The father should be placed in jail immediately. Even if he doesn't know where they're hiding, he knew what she was going to do.

I don't see the big deal. If the hippie wants her kid to die, then so be it. That is HER choice. Just one less person whining about global what-not, and eating that...

Once the kid dies, throw both parents butt into jail for manslaughter for 20 years, and they can practice their 'religion' with the gangs and rapists...

Fine for adults...but this is a minor child that needs prortection from his parents.

Would you say the same thing if this was a case of incest???

She is only trying to protect her son from a cure that's as bad as the disease. There have been safe alternative cures for cancer for years but they have become "illegal" in this country because of the pharmaceutical drug cartel led by the FDA. Chemotherapy is one of many "cash-cows" that pays drug companies billions of dollars a year. The stunning fact is that no one ever sees how many deaths arise from that "cure" because it is a closely-guarded secret. I hope and pray that woman and her son find the real cure they deserve.

The government needs to stay out of this. The family is following their religious beliefs. Isn't this America - isn't that their right? For god's sake, the Somalis complained about having to take their headdress off for DL pictures and whe altered the law for them - why can't we treat our US citizens with the same respect? The kid said he'd fight treatment all the way - he doesn't want it! So, we use all these taxpayer $ to force treatment on someone that doesn't want it or believe in it when we could be using those $ to care for the people that do want and need healthcare. You'll come back and say he's only 13, he doesn't know better. BS. Imagine the emotional scarring he'll have when he's ripped from his family and beliefs and treatment is forced upon him. We'll be paying for this kid his whole life.

I bet you are the first to call the GOV if I come over there and beat the stuffin's out of you. After i smack you up side the head 3 or 4 times let you fall to the ground then you crawl to the phone and call 911. Here is what you say as you cry like a baby. " Oh pleez Mr Policeman, help me fast, I know you are underpaid , overworked but this guy twice my size just kicked my butt for practicing what I preach."

People, get informed, chemo and radiation is poison. It only cures in 2 to 3 percent of cases. And if you don't die from the cancer, you will die from the chemo!! If they want to receive alternative treatment, it is their right..not the government's right. Cancer is big business, for the Doctor's and Pharm's, if more people would do some research on the subject, they would be shocked. Not to say that chemo and rad doesn't help people, but be informed and do some research, the results may surprise you!

ABSOLUTLY, They should lock both of those idiot parents up. Actually they should have removed all of their children as soon as it became common knowledge that this child could barely read and write, there is no excuse for ignorance in this day and age.

I'm not one who generally agrees to let "big brother" interfere with peoples lives and interests, but c'mon this is a matter of life and death for this CHILD.

Didn't take long for the crystal munchers to come out of the woodwork. Just add a dash of "big government" rant for flavoring and ta dah: instant wing nut ready to take on today's right wing cause du jour. I am not sure if these folks are numerically really taking over the world (afterall, this country is functionally scientifically illiterate) or they just scream louder than everybody else.

Where can one verify your claimed cure rates for chemo and radiation? I would like to become "informed" too. I am guessing that you do not have reliable data to back up your assertion.

I just hope taxpayers reasources aren't being wasted looking for this kid. I'm tired of it all. If they want their child to die so be it. I wish the kid would get treatment but hey it is Darwinism at its best.

some of the posting on her are terrible. this child needs help and his parents are to be the ones who make sure he gets it. they should have taken him right away when this court case started. anyone who denies treatment for a disease that can be cured has something wrong with them.
Lady dont you want your son to grow up and have a family of his own. Would you not like to have grandchildren. you really need help. for the sake of that young mans life i hope they are caught so he can get help.

Well, when your child dies from a brain tumor, and your told surgery, chemo and radiation that is "state of the art" will "cure" him, and you do massive amounts of research over a long period of time because your child is sitting in the cancer ward of Sloan, with all kinds of ports connected to him, you can earn the right to ask how to get informed.

if she wanted to abort this child prior to him being born it would have been fine- but now that he is alive/ sick and she wants to kill him the gov't steps in?

I feel bad for the kid; yet another victim of clueless religiofascists. In a way, maybe if enough of these Luddites self-destruct by refusing treatment, the world could be rid of their Bronze Age stupidity once and for all.

As for the tinfoil types who rail against the government, or chemo, or vaccines, do us all a favor and finish yourselves off - you contribute nothing to society.
