Does anyone have experience with the Creative Learning Center Daycare on N. Frankford? OR any other daycare here in Lubbock I am considering taking my child to Creative Learning Center but would like to hear personal experience.
I have had such horrible experiences with childcare in Lubbock and I just want to be able to leave my child at daycare without worrying about his safety/well-being constantly.
There are so many daycares here but when you look up them on the DPRS licensing website they all have horrible reports/inspections. Several have left children outside or the children wandered off outside near busy streets.
Sometimes I feel like quitting work and school and opening my own daycare!!
Any advice is appreciated
If you can wait, in January Master Sang Kim is opening a preschool (3-6 years old)and kindergarten in his new strip center near the new Walmart on 82nd near Milwaukee. Small child to teacher ratio, music, books, karate, certified teachers. Should be very nice.

Yes, Rainbow's End located in Wolforth>> a bit of a drive but well worth it. My son attended there for several years. They had classes, and activities that would rival any private school. The staff remained the same and that speaks volumes. I also hired some of the staff to care for my children when we went on vacation. I had no complaints. The lady who owns it is a former school teacher.
Hope this helps!
I heard she sold it and owns a tutoring company?

If you wouldn't mind, could you please tell me if I am on the right track? I have been a social worker and teacher in the public school system. Now I am helping someone open a preschool and kindergarten in SW Lubbock. Besides DFPS, would Region 17 be a good resource to insure that we are doing everything by the book? Thanks for your help.

Rainbow's End was sold a year ago. Most of the staff left when the former owner sold. You are correct the former owner, who was a public school teacher owned Rainbow's for 10 years. She is no longer there. Things have really changed there since the sale.

Hi Nawlins,

I have been out of town and running very busy lately. I am sorry I haven't responded until now!

Is the Kindergarten going to be accredited? You may have already found the answers you need by now!

Let me know!

And yes, the lady who sold Rainbow's End now owns a Tutoring Business!:)

my kids were going to creative learning center. when i explain to them ,and told them that my son has adhd. oh yea we can handle him. two weeks later my son turned around and punch a little girl. come to find out that little girl he hit was the grand daughther of the owners. so then they kick all of my 4 kids out of that day care. so who's ever thinking about putting their kids there think twice.

Luis,

How old is your child and is he on medication for his ADHD? Did you discuss alternative solutions to discipline procedures with the facility when you enrolled him? Had they visited with you before that incident about his behavior, as in a 3 strikes and your out of our center rule. I know when I owned my facility we had a 3 strikes and your out rule when it came to physical altercations. Our public schools today follow a Zero Tolerance policy, and I know that some child care facilities do as well.

There are many great places here in Lubbock that will be happy to enroll all of your children! Just make sure that you sit down and have a lengthy conversation with not only the owner, but the director and your son's teacher. That will help so much, and make sure they understand that he is ADHD and that he sometimes may become impulsive and strike out when frustrated, which is a very common behavior for children with ADHD. There are so many things that childcare facilities can do to make sure that your son has a positive experience!

Sometimes you just have to find the 'perfect fit' for your children and the right child care facility, this doesn't mean that some of the places are not good places, it just means that they were not the right 'fit' for you and your family! Sort of like a good pair of shoes! Make sense?

Good Luck!

We also have the 3 strikes and you're out rule. We keep very small classrooms too and it seems to help calm some of our over active children.

Please don't take your children to Doodle Bug Square. They left my infant in a swing for 90% of the day. I started to worry they were not changing him and so I secretly marked his diaper one morning. Seven hours later when I returned he was in the same diaper!! I pulled him out automatically. They also will cover infants heads with blanets so that they'll sleep longer.

I USE TO WORK FOR THOMAS TREASURES DO NOT RECOMMEND
They talk about the parents when they leave. there very loud when talking to the children.

The Staff is really good the owner cheats on his wife with another married woman he fires pregnant women and when someone finds out about an affair he fires them to. He stated to one pregnant girl that had a child already that she couldnt lift the children while he was staring at her stomach he said were just gonna have to let you go...she begged for her job and he wouldnt give it to her he was very rude. He had only hired her like 2 months before that and then he kept making comments on how frustrated he was that she didnt tell him she was pregnant

I know how you feel. I take my boys to Kid Central. They've been there a year and all has gone well. The director is a really nice lady. However, I have seen my share of unacceptabel behavior- and not from the kids. If you child is a toddler- the teachers are great. But if your kid is older, the teachers are witches. That's my opinion. But, I think that most daycares have those kinds of people. The thing is that if you see someone mistreating or even speaking in an abusive tone of voice- report the issue to the director. And, if it makes you feel better- there's always video tapes you can take a look at. Good luck and sorry I couldn't give you any feed back on the daycare you wanted.

Agape Child Development Center is a great place for children. I was an employee there for about six years. I was let go because I wouldnt take the swine flu shot. Despite the fact I no longer work there it is a wonderful place for children. I can honestly say children are treated with respect and teachers there are great. I never once saw any mal treatment of kids. I loved place, miss it dearly. Im currently without a full time job, so if you are needing an infant room teacher let me know.

If you are looking for quality care go to First Baptist. Nina Anderson is a great person and director. I have been in childcare for 14 years and First Baptist is an awesome program. Second another great place is Agape CDC. Its awesome as well. I recommend them because Iam a current and past employee. Im filled with warm memories and nothing but good things to say about them both.

I'm not sure about others in the area, but I DO NOT recommend Kids Are Cool. The learning program is pretty good, but they have cameras in their facility yet so much goes on where the cameras don't catch it and a few employees were reported for their actions yet they are still there.

HR Learning Academy In home Daycare is a BAD Daycare. The staff is great when they are there but the owner is hateful, she has bad energy, she badmouths parents, makes you feel unwelcome to come in the home past a certain point or a certain period of time. I personally witnessed her answer the door from a different direction of the house with her being the only one there while 3 or 4 crying infants under 6 mos. were unattended. When I let myself out, she left the opposite direction suggesting she had no intention of addressing those poor babies. My child would not go near her and was always afraid when it was just her. I took him out. Diapers were changed, the house was clean, kids were fed but that is it. There were not any signs of nurturing from her. I also heard when she didnt like kids attending, she would raise the rate so they would leave on their own or kick you out.

I know this comment was posted quite some time ago, but I wanted to take the time to clarify a few things on creative Learning Center. I am now the Administrative Supervisor there and Monique Longoria is the Director. I can not speak for the people in charge prior to me, but one thing I can say is since I have been there in July 2010, we have had very few if any issues with our parents. Any issues that have been brought to our attention have been taken care of promptly. Integrity is very important to us. We strive to have open and honest relelationships with our families. Monique has been at Creative Learning Center for over 10 years. She knows this Center inside and out. She and I just recently received our Directors License. We both knew a lot before we went, but now we are equipped with essential knowledge to better handle and operate our facility. We strive to better our relationships with the families at our facility. We have made a lot of changes to better meet the needs of our families and the children within our facility. We are also looking into doing parents night out to allow parents the opportunity to have a night out whithout the children. Monique and I work fantastic together and achieve a lot with one another. We want nothing more then to accommodate our kids at Creative Learning Center with a solid intellectual curriculm, structure, improve and implement mannerism, broaden their cultural prospective to allow them to learn Spanish, Sign Language and even Chinese while having a great time doing it. Our children are our future and we strive for nothing less then excellence in providing them not only the best educationally but nutritionally. We DO NOT cut corners when it comes to education and nutrition. We welcome all suggestions with open minds and hearts. We offer many benefits at our facility including but not limited to internet accessibility, CCS, after school programs as well as other features. We pick up children from more schools than any other facility that we are aware of. If you choose our facility, you will have the opportunity to view your child/ren from anywhere that you have internet access at no additional charge. So if you have had some issues with our facility in the past, i highly encourage you to check us out once again. We would be more than happy to give you a tour! Thank you all for considering our facility as a place of care for you child/ren. We appreciate your time and hope we can accommodate you in the future.

God Bless
