Sad, but, people are so stupid. They know the many fatalities in that place, and still go. That's how much they love themselves or their loves ones? Now a mother lost a son, siblings are suffering, all because of ignorance. There are plenty of signs: NO SWIMMING.

I hope the borough do something about this. I hope they keep an eye on the area, and who ever is caugh there, should be arrested and pay a high fine.

Well, I guess you're another one of those idiots, and blind. I participated in the search and, yes, signs were still there. They put those signs after a man drowned back in 2005. Also, there is a law signed by the Department of Enviromental Protection called: Stay Out/Stay Alive. We are in the process of meeting with the Borough, Rescue Crew, and differents State Representatives to see how we can push this law to a high fine offense. I hope this works and we keep ignorants out and alive.

I swam there as a kid from 12 years old to 18 years old. Never had a problem. People who go up there to drink and/or do drugs are usually the ones that get thereselves in trouble. I dont think fences are going to keep anybody out. People just have to be smart about what you're doing. Its not Wild Water Kingdom. Its very dangerous and risky but so is sky diving and extreme mountain biking and all that stuff. PA should of made the people who created these bodies of water fill them in. If the land owners really wanna keep people out they should fill them in, atleast where the cliffs are.

Why must the land owners be liable for filling them in? You would think a 19 year old would know better. Bottom line is it was criminal trespass and he paid the price.

I never said they were liable, I'm saying if they really want people to stop trespassing they are going to have to destroy the cliffs the people jump off. Otherwise its a waste of time, there is 1000 ways to get up there. A fence and signs isn't going to work to keep people from killing themselves.

first off, he was my boyfriend. and he could not swim. he doesn't even like going into the woods.
he knew better, but i belive when he got there he didn't even want to get in the water. he hated water. so, it's his fault this happened? even though maybe kids were tempting him. what happens in our life is in our hands, but when we die it's not in our hands anymore. you can voice your opinion, but why do people always have to throw in that extra crap?

his sister is lost with out him she wrote a poem and it said more then a brother the simple word brother cant truly define.the best friend i found in mine. the voice that spoke up when i felt humble and small. the hands that pick me up when i would stumble and fall, the shoulders that i cried on, my hero and protection. My source of encouragement,my compass and direction.Too special to be in a category with others, when people ask who you were,I,ll say more then a brother

I'm sorry this has happened to your family. My family has also experienced tragedy. Death is truly are enemy! One scriptures that has helped me recover from the pain experienced when someone you love dies is Psalm 34:18:"Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; And those who are crushed in spirit he saves." I hope this scripture will help you. Revelation 21:4 promises a time when "he [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and DEATH will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The Former things have passed away."

You are so right Happy Pioneer. This is a terrible tragedy and one day soon no one will ever have to experience the loss of someone they love. Jesus Christ will conquer our enemy death forever- 1Corinthians 15:26. My condolence to the family.

i was just there yesterday and honestly i feel bad about the boy that died but i have jumped off that cliff Many of times and so have my friends and we are fine. Its reactional fun . You could die do anything and everything . Does that mean we should restrict it all . I dont think so. Swim at your own risk and let everyone else be .

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Aries

The prospect of travel really appeals to you today, especially if you don't have any holidays booked for the foreseeable future. So be careful if you're out shopping and you happen to walk past a travel agent's, because almost before you know it you could be sitting in there waving your credit card around and consulting your diary for the best day to take off for the wide blue yonder.
