I have a neighbor, who has been harassing me, for over 2 years. constantly calling Law Enforcement, Code Enforcement, Animal Control....all, many times.
Each time they have checked, they have written 'no cause'.
Recently, he placed 3 outdoor surveillance cameras, on his house. I suspected, he was taping me, so I put up a 6' privacy fence.
Now he has 5 surveillance cameras, and all but 1 are aimed at my bedroom & bathroom windows.
This means that he & his wife have seen me, & my children. naked!
This is in Okeechobee FL, & he is friends with some of the Law Enforcement.
Please advise! I am a prisoner in my own home.
Also, he informed me that his wife, who works for an Attorney, looked up everything about me, & my Parents, who own my home.
I am begging someone to help me!

OMG this happens all over the country! I am in Ridgefield,CT and the same thing has been going on for about 10 years. Cops are constantly coming out for nonsensical complaints and cannot produce a charge of anything. The guy is friends with the cops and his wife works in HR so I can figure she can order a background check on anyone and get all of the personal information.

Get your own cameras, and point them at their house. If it's not illegal there, just make a point of annoying them :D Also, get the kind that move, so they know that you are actually observing those camera's.

What about in Connecticut? Can a noisy neighbor with nothing else to do with there tome set up audio and video survallence cameras pointed towards our childrn's window's as well as our entire front yard and ALL the windows in our house and LISTEN as well as video tape us 24/7? Well apparently the local police think this is absolutely legal! Anyone care to help?
This sounds like a Federal crime. I would run it by the Feds. I believe that you especially cannot video tape children. You might want to get some equipment of your own and set it up in obvious places.

I live in Albuquerque NM and a drug dealer lives one house down from me, stinking and ruining a nice neighborhood. Autos coming and going constantly all hours 24-7 day and night. Evidently, I am the only neighbor bothered by this. Well, after all it is New Mexico.
The police are useless here and I, for one, feel justified in installing cameras. I am an older woman, live alone. Having to do the cops job, I feel justified.

I have a elderly couple who are ignorant and so paranoid that someone is going to touch their 10ft yard. I have been their neighbor for over 20yrs my grandparents before then and these people are horrible, yelling at my kids who are scared of them and others on the block for touching the public sidewalk. Last night was enough i called the police on them. Apparently they have been videtaping my girls who are 14 and 10 playing in our back yard the cameras are pointed to our windows and a video recorder in the back and front and according to the police the old man can record my girls in his house and its ok. The cop told them to stop harassing the kids of the neighborhood but to me thats creepy my kids nor me have ever done anything to these people . Its not right and to be fair i caught him in his back bedroom looking at us while we were in our kitchen and me posting a side telling them to mind there own business aholes for a day a year ago is harrassment but videotaping innocent kids is ok. This is st.louis city for you

Only pedophiles, communists & really paranoid people install these cameras to creep their neighbors out...in my case my neighbor was all three listed above. The fact is that they are listening to every conversation you have in or outside of your home and watching every move you make...because they have no life of their own.
It takes a sick individual to point these devices towards neighbors and just sit back and listen. My twisted pedophile neighbor installed his cameras pointing towards a basketball hoop that all the local kids frequent. For these sick pups it's like Child Porn...I finally got disgusted thinking of this freak baking brownies wearing a Boy Scout uniform and moved the hell out before he opened a free petting zoo in his backyard.
I suggest you do the same because the local police will not assist to uphold your rights as a United States Citizen.
Yes we have the same thing in CT. A "family man" who works from home has cameras pointed at our property and is recording our voices. The police thing it is fine, because he somehow turned it around to say he was afraid of us - we are a couple in mid to late 60s with grown children. I agree they have not life of their own and are getting their jollies out of watching us just live a normal life (best as we can while we know our every move is recorded)

I live on a private road in Florida with only 5 houses on it. The neighbor on the corner used to come here off and on through out the year and now is staying.
Recently, one of the neighbors alerted me that this man has game cameras pointed at all of our houses. The one pointed at my house is not even on his property, it is a vacant lot belonging to someone else. I live alone with a teenager and I am getting creeped out by what he might be up to.
We have done absolutely nothing to this man, we have never spoke to each other, we keep to ourselves and work alot. We are quiet respectful neighbors.
Can this be legal? I don't know what to think, but I feel my privacy is being violated and I keep wondering why he is doing this. I see him sometimes and he is very creeeeepy the way he looks at us.
If I call the police will they say I am being rediculous or they can not do anything about it? The cameras are on property he doesn't own, there must be some kind of law against that, at least tresspassing.
Can anyone help?
If you are where the public can see you, it is not illegal for anyone to place game cameras anywhere, unless he/she uses them to intimidate, harrass or stalk you they are legal. If he/she posts them on internet then he/she is in violation of federal law. 1 st; 4 th and 14 th amendments

I have the same problem as most of the people here. My neighbor is always outside my bedroom and bathroom windows, even in crappy weather I've heard her. She has harassed my family for 4 years now. She hAs bullied my dog and has big flood light camaras facing our house! She has followed my to friends houses . If she hasn't she had someone else. I've come home and heard her yelling about what I did there. Granted I have gone and smoked pot there. It gives her no right to bully and intimidate me by yelling it out. She has is a mean and very creepy nasty woman who hates me. I'm becoming very sick of her disgusting behavior. I can't wAit to move

I want to cameras up to catch my neighbors kids destroying my property in nj but I live in a duplex. is it illegal. Like one time I looked out my back door and saw them smashing in my garbage cans and riding my fence like a horse another time(they bent it) they also damaged my porch. Told their parents and they did not give a crap and yell at me when I tell them to stop doing it. Police won't do anything because the guy next door is a cop. I own my house and paid it off and these pieces of crap moved in 5 months ago and have already done some series damage and rent, landlord also does not care.
