This is not written by me, I found it on another site:
"Washington Height's Royal Playboys of the early 80's are legendary and inflicted fear in the hearts of both friends and foe. From their street gun battles around Stitt JHS and Gdubs to their bloody climactic rumble against their arch-enemies the ball busters (by Columbia Presbyterian). Among their ranks were Little Jose, Crazy Lenny, Spanky, Crazy Mike, White Boy Bobby, Bert, Mr. Mor, Tron, Crazy Leo, Manny and others. They had rooftoop hideouts for weapons and escape routes along the cliffsides of highbridge park and edgecombe to flee the arrival of the dt's after rumbles. They reigned terror in those years. Their unbridled youth was a harbinger of darker days, with many of them progressing to criminal enterprises (most notably the wild cowboys). While we do not glorify or romantacize their lifestyle, their unbridled youth and lawlessness impacted us all. Otherwise we would not be talking about them nearly 30 years later. Like you Milton, I was untouchable and ironically growing up in the heights was alot easier due to that untouchable status. I can look back decades later, alive and well because I never had to get involved and was never messed with. Unfortunate for those young kids with such wild youthful indiscretion we still remember as the Playboys, those gone and those present in the shadows."

My sincere prayers to el feo from 67th on the heights as he recovers from the gun shots wounds he received yesterday morning.ive been a friend since the age of 8.and seeing him being wheeled in to the ER in
Columbia presbetirian hospital where I work was hard for me.
I understand that you live by the gun and die by the gun.....,but it was still hard to see.
I know plenty of internet broads with their DNA twisted hate on him for how he lived his life and then did his dirty on the wasps.
But I suggest you go against your nature, man up,and say who you really are.So that you can proof to those who know you, specially your kids, that you are only a part time broad..........
Love and respect to a for real for real.
Quick recovery my G

But he was so crazy that he ended up setting up some mobsters in jail and got out of jail some years later.

I think Truth means nobody in a general sense not as in he never put in work. In that era a lot of dudes put in work... Question is.....how much notariety did he get other than through word of mouth on the street. The guy is relevant to the era but not to the story. What would warrant a documentary of story telling if you haven't set a mark beyond mid-level if even that. The only reason Lenny and nelson's story is worth telling is because of the sharp turn things took after the Westside highway incident not the money. It's how it became a media circus of opportunity for law enforcement and others to get credit for. Setting your mark in the street game is beyond mid-level, local stuff. Oh wait....we pushed weight in v.a and yada yada.....oh wait we caught mad bodies in yada yada.....ummm... But ask yourself how many folk from the heights actually caught the media's eye the way Lenny and company did? There's guys like capo and yayo who never had a documentary and those guys are on an entirely different payscale . So maybe truth needed a better choice of word than nobody but I see what he means by it. If a documentary is just going to be about how much work you put in and money you made than its just another typical F.E.D.s like flick.

I grew up on the same block that Lenny, Nelson, Fat Danny, Pasqualito and them grew up on and went to G Dubs (George Washington HS) with most of them. I personally think they were worst than even the book made them out to be. They were ruthless. At the time to even deal drugs in the Heights you had to a real gangster and they were feared and respected by everyone, friends and foes alike. Even before Yayo introduced them to the crack business they were in a gang called the Playboys and they were shooting rival gang (the Ballbusters) members, I remember Lenny was known as Hitman Len in those early days. When Yayo had to flee to the Dominican Republic a power struggle ensued between his workers and Lenny and Nelson ruthlessly took control of the best locations. That's before the media named it crack I remember them referring to it as "based balls".
Funny story, I remember the day Nelson got kicked out of G Dubs. He was in the bathroom in the cafeteria and someone had just him some money to settle their "account" when the dean/track coach Mr. Budihas (sic) walked in on them and took away a small notebook that Nelson used as a ledger to keep his business in order. As Mr. Budihas, who was a former Green Beret (and very intimidating) was walking away Nelson jumped him from behind and they started fighting. Mr.Budihas' past training served him well as he finally took Nelson down before the school's cop came over and cuffed him. I think that's the only fight Nelson lost and the end of his high school education.
I could go on and on but to answer your question, I read the book and it's pretty factual but that's only what the cops were able to prove, they were actually much worst.
