Violet "Connie" Conard was my teacher at SHS from 1958 - 1961, when I graduated. She was a very special teacher and good friend, and I know she was an outstanding citizen and generous friend to many in Skagway and Alaska through all these years. I send my condolenses to all her many ex-students and friends there. Like you, I will miss her a great deal.

Very best wishes to all in my hometown,

Miss Conrad was one of my favorite teachers because I loved anything to do with English and wirting...Miss Conrad was a very loving and caring person who I felt that her only reason to be here on this earth was to teach and to care for her students...I feel very blessed to know Miss Conrad, and I also lived next door and went over and visited Miss Conrad, Miss Coring, and Mrs. McMillen...they were all very special women and very influential in my life in Skagway....I would just like to say I love them and my thoughts and prayers are with Miss Conrad's family...I feel very proud ot be a student of Miss Condrads........Tammy Stalkfleet and the Knapp family...
