I moved to Marinette (against my will) from a small town. Albeit approximately the same size as the Marinette/Menominee community, apparently the people in my home town had more to do with their time.

I was extremely interested to find that a 38 year old woman "struck a mailbox and entered a ditch at 1:45 am on January 31st in the town of Peshtigo."

WOW! Breaking News!!

Is the collective mentality of Marinette/Menominee so base that anyone actually derives any sort of usefulness from knowledge of a situation such as this? I mean, did we all REALLY need to spend 75 cents to know what was going on "County Trunk B" in Peshtigo at 2 in the morning on January 31st? Did the newspaper REALLY need to waste the ink to perpetuate some poor person's unfortunate predicament?

You people need to either get lives, or start talking about something worthwhile... The latter generally requires the former, but I don't want your brains to explode.

The welfare of mailboxes is important. Without functional mailboxes, the delicate fabric of society in Northern Wisconsin will rip asunder and people will once again resort to cannibalism, rape of domestic animals and setting patrol cars on fire. If not for mailboxes, how would the Eagle Herald be delivered? How would we know if our mailboxes had been the targets of terroristic activities such as driving into ditches?

I have offered to write editorials on all the town activities reported in the paper. Pending a favorable reply from the editor, I am compiling a list of people in the fair town of Marinette who have no necks. I have traced their ancestry back to a Neanderthal named Orguchk the Perpetual Wanker.

You are absolutely right Grace! We need small towns to produce small minds and therefore promote the spread of WalMarts to stimulate China's economy, which I hear is in need of bail-outs. The fact that it took someone in Marinette about a year to think of reply fills me with confidence that your small town will remain small and the welcoming attitude you display, guarantees a three-digit population. I hope you continue to enjoy the breaking news regarding mailboxes and remain the ignorant bubble-dwelling twits you are.

Seriously, Nordstrom, even though things in our small town aren't as dangerous and, as grace put it, exciting, it doesn't mean we can't share it. Heck, it's better than having no paper at all. Besides, I quite like the lack of extreme violence and crap that goes on out there. Don't you dare assume we're all dimwits because we live in a small town. At least our minds are open to living in a peaceful setting rather than a noisy city.

If you don't like it, then don't stay. There are plenty of other large cities out there that your dim wittedness could enjoy.

Good call on people using WalMart stimulating China's economy... WalMary started in the US. Even though there are WalMart's opening in China, it's still boosting a US company. Looks like a small town mind knows more than you. By the way, what did any of the previous posts have to do with WalMart?

Funny "Nordstrom"... Maybe it took Grace a year to respond because she doesn't sit on her ass all day looking at dumb*ss blog posts. Lol. The only reason I happened to come across this page was because it happened to be in the results for a google search I was doing; as I'm sure Grace had a similar scenario. In all reality, some of the smallest minds come from the largest cities. Small towns produce small minds? Is that all you can think of? Nice ummm... analogy? Lol. Really very clever ;) I mean, we are the ones that have homeless people all over the streets, right? Haahaha, just kidding, that's mean. But there is some truth to it, no? On top of that, contrary to the belief of "MF" that this knowledge wasn't useful, apparently it was because it gave "MF" an opportunity to write a super cool little blog as a chance to use big words like predicament, collective mentality, and perpetuate, and whine about what he or she feels is useful knowledge to the people. Guess what, no one cares what you think, so get over it. The police blotter is just that - a police blotter. It's a record of police activity, typically reviewed by local newspapers who print arrests and other notable activities. Therefore, if all you read about is stolen bikes, struck mailboxes, and traffic tickets, then I have a pretty good clue that people aren't as dumb as you suspect. Just shows that it's completely obvious it's not a high crime area and you should check the rate of your common sense because it seems you're losing it faster than you're gaining it. I might suggest taking your own advice about getting a life and/or talking about something worthwhile. Not sure how you didn't realize you were doing the same thing you were complaining about. Idiot, lol.

FYI - marinette police are pulling people over tonight almost every 5 minutes on the police scanner. There must be some quota they need to fill. Everyone should stay in there homes tonight if you dont want to be pulled over.

Mf if u seek some real mind blowing news move to Milwaukee I had swat run through my back yard a few months ago ! Now that's worth the 75 cents isn't it ? Or perhaps you would like to work across from the empty lot where Jeffery Dahmer had his little chamber of horrors , geez man embrace the peace of living in a small town . Once u move away and have a job u just can't walk away from you'll realize what you lost.
