Out here in California, we are surrounded by both illegal aliens and immigrants, some from asia, most from Mexico. I have been reading your debate with great interest. Our family is originally half-Swedish and half-Irish, with family still living in Sweden. I have two brothers; one married a beautiful lady from the Philippines and the other one married his sweetheart from Mexico- her family owns a large rancho there, still. Both of my sisters-in-law spent the time, the money, the energy and patience to become legal U.S. residents. They didn't have to do this, as each still has family in their native lands, and children by my brothers born here in the U.S. They became citizens of this great (yes, it still is! Look at how many people die just to get here each year!) country of ours because they knew it was the RIGHT thing to do. They took pains to carefully learn the ENGLISH language, learn our laws, and contribute to our tax system. I cannot say that about the illegal immigrants who come to California to work. The majority of these illegals stand on street corners to work for cash under the table to send back to Mexico because our dollar is worth more over there. They do not contribute taxes to help support the healthcare and public schools that they use. They refuse to speak English even when they know some, and are draining our very limited natural resources. The worst part is that over 40 out of every 100 are recruited by the drug cartels to smuggle illegal drugs into our country, to our communities through "friends" they send up ahead, like a telegraph line. Yes, there are perfectly 'good' illegal aliens just trying to 'make it' in our country. Sadly, they are few and take part of the blame of their countrymen. Even 'good' illegal aliens are breaking our laws and making it more difficult on our resources by not becoming U.S. citizens and supporting our country through taxes. Please take the time to be friendly toward them when you see them and encourage them to apply for citizenship. Volunteer to take them to the local offices that assist in the naturalization process and become their sponsor.

I commend those members of your family who became US citizens by following the law. That is GREAT. However that being said there is no such thing as a "good ILLEGAL ALIEN". That person has broken the law and I shall never be friendly towards them, their family or their friends. The only office I will show them the way to is the local ICE office to assure they are taken into custody and deported. I have my own family to sponsor and there are enough legal citizens and legal immigrants in this country already that go to the front of the line as far as having my concern and assistance.

Why are you guys so harsh of the immigrants?? give them a brake would ya! you don't know them, you don't know their story or why they are here and until you do i don't think you should be commenting about it! they could be the nicest people in the world and you won't even give them a chance... personally i think that is pretty rotten!
The illegal aliens need to arrested and deported, UNITED STATES take in more legal immigrants in the world. I know about milking, hard work and YES a many of people won't do it or don't want to live in the north. The UNITED STATES does need to rewrite the work permit law. Make more employer friendly, it takes a lawyer do anything, get rid of the lawyers. Make it where the immigrant worker GETS; NO food stamps, No children, NO anchor babies, work and pay for your own stuff. The employer takes responsibility of immigrant worker, and Homeland security checks up on the immigrant worker. Enforce the Immigration laws of the land, NO amnesty, NO illegal aliens.

ROTFLMAO.
I just spotted you picture Roger. Here is an appropriate poem to go with the pic. Is that a cross of Obama and "Big Head" Ted??
‘Twas the night before elections
’Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!
I, in my bathrobe
with a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.
When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys
They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!
He snatched up my money
and quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink
He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!
’ On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi’
He screamed at the pairs!
They took off for his cause
and as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think
on this one final note-
IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!
Great poem. You know, I don't think that it's a matter of, "Get out and vote." Our voting system is rigged to benefit the corrupt. Our politicians "say" what we want to hear but then they back-stab us. We have been rendered pretty much powerless. Our voices are silenced by the cries of Corporate America and Special Interest Groups. Our rights are being wrung out like a wet rag. Our resources are being sucked so dry that any help an American needs has already been given to foreigners with contempt for the American people.

Vote, you say. Until we have enough power to get rid of the corruption in our Government - we are hosed!!!!!

you know what for all you jerk faces out there who are talking about illegals. At one point and time we were all illegal. The only reason they come up here from other countrys is to make a living for there familys that can't be made where they are from. Nobody says anything about the mongs, chinese, purticans, briazilians, or any of them its just about the mexicans. I love my illegal family with all my heart and would do anything for them. so for those of you that think your better than them and think your life is better than thiers in reality its probably not. They take the jobs that nobody else wants cuz they don't come with bounus or isurance or 401ks. Thats what they take. Honestly what if it was the otherway around and you had to become legal in their country like mexico and purto rico and brizial just to take your vacation and pay all the money and consquences they do to be free. In my opion if all your doing is making a living and not doing wrong by anybody. Then so be it you should be free to be where ever you want to be no matter what country it is. Cuz i mean look at the americans the drug dealers and crack head and pot smokers, come on american have alot of flaus to. We americans no how to grow and sell and deal drugs just like the other countries don't matter the skin color. So I ask you . WHAT IS THE DAMN DIFFERENCE WE ARE ALL THE SAME. BLEEDING AND CRYING AND MAKING BABYS OR DOING ILLEGAL THINGS. SO MY THEORY DON'T JUDGE UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMEONES STORY AND THE WAY THINGS ARE WHERE THEY COME FROM.
