Was this another example of an elderly person who kept renewing his driver's license for 40 years, and never being tested in all those Years

I am very sorry that this happened to this elderly man and family. We all need to realize, however, that we literally take our lives into our own hands when we get into our cars, especially on I-85. Speeders, drunk drivers, and those who just have to get there five minutes before everyone else, have created an atitude of getting there fast, whatever the cost in lives. This affects all ages. It's senseless, but no one is willing to have lower speed limits to save lives!

I am truly sorry that this man lost his life. I am sorry for his family and friends as well. I don't think the elderly are our main problem though. I think the real crime is that impaired drivers (of all ages and kinds... under the influence of drugs, alcohol, immaturity, or just plain stupidity or arrogance)drive with the attitude that faster is better and are literally willing to take others' lives into their hands to get somewhere five minutes before eveyone else. If we really wanted to save lives, we would lower the speed limits and enforce them!
