I am up for a job that would be in Frankfort, from what I can see Shelbyville would place me between Frankfort and Louisville. I have two girls one in middle school the other going into kindergarten I am trying to find out where the best place would be to live. Im looking for information on daycare's and school system in Shelby are they good, do the school systems challenge the kids. Honestly are the schools and daycare's better in Shelby, Frankfort or Louisville. please help

School systems are way better in Shelby than Frankfort, my 7 year old goes to clear creek elementary and it is the best public school ever. If your child has problem areas such as reading for example they do a lot of one on one and small group activities to help them. I went to Frankfort from middle to high school, I attended bondurant middle and western hills high and they were terrible and still are. The schools there have problems with teen pregnancy and teen drug problems. My sister in law is 17 and goes to Shelby county high and she absolutely loves it. I have noticed kids that go to Shelby county schools are encouraged to do more extra curricular activities and stay out of way more trouble. I don't know for sure about Louisville by my nephew attended Jefferson county schools and it was so bad my sister transferred him to Shelby and drive 45 min. One way to take him to school. Heritage elementary and clear creek are the best elementary schools in Shelby county and both middle schools are great but I like east middle better, and as for both high schools in Shelby, both are great so I highly recommend living in Shelby county and as for the best neighborhood s, I live in Greenland park and its concidered county not city and it 5 min. Away from clear creek elementary school where my daughter is in 1 st grade and I love it here:) other great neighborhoods include ospry cove, all small areas around rock bridge, and all that I have named are very affordable but very nice houses. We bought our house and have lived her for almost a year and the ppl that live here are great, lots of well mannered kids for your children to play with and lots of trusting parents:) I hope this helped you, good luck on your decision!

You should look into Osprey Cove neighborhood! They have choices from a house, townhome,or even condos by the lake. It is located across from the Cracker barrel and is right down the street from Clear Creek. One more thing my family loves about living there is all the other families. My husband works in louisville and loves that the highway is right next to the neighborhood on the other side of the lake.Happy hunting.

Shelbyville sucks!!! Too populated with drug addicts and distrusting people. Don't move there. It's the ultimate black hole of a town that has no opportunity for growth. Your kids are better off elsewhere.

Frankfort an Louisville are better? Please, they have twice as many drug addicts and dealers u moron and anywhere u move will have issues like that! Stupid ppl like u really need to get a better understanding of all 3 towns she spoke of. Louisville is nasty as shit with murders daily and addicts on EVERY corner, Frankfort is full of addicts as well most of which is in school still. You dumb as fuck YOUR GONNA LEARN TODAY! Get ur facts straight. And this lady was asking intelligent ppl what they thought not dumb asses like you!
