A person can be either Christian OR part of a denomination (catholic, baptist, etc). Not both. You cannot serve 2 masters. Jesus established His church, man established denominations.

Where did you come up with that? Are you a Jehovah's Witness?

It's in the Bible. Luke 16:13 And No, I'm not part of the Jehovah's Witness denomination.

Jesus did not establish any man made group, that's common sense. Martin Luther = Lutherns, Joseph Smith = Mormons, and so on.

Acts 11:26. Those that follows Jesus are called Christians. Why on earth would anyone who wants to be a follower of Christ lower himself to being called something else?

Also, if you read the New Testament, you'll see that each congrgation was autonomous. Each group had its own elders, bishops, deacons, etc. We are told that allowing one group to oversee another is wrong. That's what denominations do. They all have to answer to someone else, like a sinod. All Catholics answer to a pope. That's not Biblical at all

Let's not confuse Jehova's Witness and Morman with Christian denominations...those two are cults.

Not all 'catholics' follow the Pope, only Roman Catholics follow the Bishop of Rome (more or less here in the states).
Truly excellent advice

Promoting sodomy & sexual deviancy to little boys is what pedo-freaks do. The churches are doing the right thing

Think what you might, but those who choose to discriminate against homosexuals are on the losing end of the argument. In fact, the more you complain and spout religious based reasons for hating on these people the quicker new laws will be enacted to protect them. The majority of the voting public, the current lawmakers and the courts are going to make sure that happens. It is not illegal to engage in same sex intercourse. I'm not sure we're talking about "promoting sodomy and sexual deviancy" here, that's a pretty much different post. And for the record, people who molest children are often heterosexual. That too, is another story. We're talking about decent human beings who have consensual homosexual sex. If God hates that, then let him deal with the sinners.

So pray away the gay!

Good luck with that one.

Bob, clearly from topics ago, we have discovered that you do feel as though there should be restrictions on one's choices and lifestyles. I am disturbed that you put yourself in a position to assume God is going to do as you suggest?? Please. He's in control of the entire situation; we are hardly in a position to make a case for what is clearly wrong and inappropriate and outside of God's intention in creating man. I suggest some get themselves to a Bible-based church and try to learn what the scripture says. It's certainly not going to be an experience of discussing homosexuality every Sunday.

He's either not in control or he doesn't care. Homophobes have lost every battle in court since Windsor. Not mention Canada has had marriage equality for years and god hasn't smited them yet. Hmm

So what you're saying is that it's OK to discriminate against anyone who is (according to THE BOOK) a sinner. Unfortunately or otherwise, this is a losing argument in a land where the law takes precedence over religion.

They'll never give up sadly. No matter how many judges rule that they have no argument whatsoever, leading up to the SCOTUS affirming that in 2015.

It won't stop them from doing what they can. They have no chance of overturning Roe V Wade but they still constantly try to pass anti woman laws

Religion has no place in law. If you want a theocracy go live in Iran or Saudi Arabia. They hate the Gays there, too. But they also don't take kindly to people preaching Christianity. So I guess they should all move to Russia

Let me get this straight. I am a member of the United Methodist denomination, which calls itself a Christian church. According to what you just said, I am not a Christian.

What does that make me, a Muslim? And who is the other "master" I serve?
