Representative Gonzalez I applaud your compasion but get real. You are balancing the budget at the expense of all citizens.

It's time for a little more parity in the system.

Repeal the Manifestos.

I say we slap a large tax increase on booze. We have too many people walking around bombed these days, belching and cursing and making a fool of themselves. Instead of balancing the budget on the backs of the poor, let's do it on the winos and the hootch hounds.

Start with cutting UMC's CEO's salary and perks of over 600,000 dollars per year as well as their top-heavy administration's salaries.

Get a clue. Who do you think these "winos and the hootch hounds" are? By and large they are the poor. Just ask Ramon Renteria.

The problem with this article may be whoever wrote the headline. Balancing the budget ia virtually ignored in this column. It is almost entirely about how the lesser classes will suffer. Important but so is balancing the budget. Where are the suggestions on how we might do that????

If we tax the booze then perhaps the winos will be motivated to stop? Slapping a tax of 45-50% on each bottle could cause them to decide to clean up and then we could use half of the proceeds to fund rehab centers. I think the idea might work because I know I'd have to reevaluate my lifestyle if they started taxing me out the butt for soda pop or porn.

What's wrong with a tax on porn? People who look at that stuff are warped and have a screw loose. I have never looked at a woman's breast, buns, thighs, stomach or bush that was bared. I think that's one of the reasons I'm such a popular guy with the ladies.
