Well, since the female was found 'shot to death' and the male was 'discovered dead', I would surmise that the husband did the killing.

Well, let's see: She was found dead of a gunshot wound in the bedroom and he was found dead in the kitchen with no obvious cause... It's a tragedy for all involved , but it sounds like he killed her with the gun and then chose another way to go, probably pills. Women don't commit suicide with guns. Ask any cop.

Well, either way, I wouldn't rush to judgement on this. Life, as you know, is crazy and very unfair. Just look around you. We have a 13% unemployment rate, we have the highest tax rates in the country, the union and government workers getting bloated salaries and pensions for doing basically nothing to improve our own infrastracture and they could retire early,... I could go on and on. We were never asked to suffer this way, never.

Maybe the couple's house was about to be foreclosed on or that their savings were blown away by the greedy Wall Street executives or both, who knows.

Now I don't wanna hear statements like "Suicide, a permanent solution to a temporary problem" or "Suicide has no salvation in God's Kingdom" or what have you. I don't wanna hear that crap. I want someone to step forward from "Profiles of Courage" and rescue us.

Each has to rescue his own, since when is it someones else's responsibility to clean up your mess.We all have our own, this is where a better plan comes in.We don't always get the life we want but make the best of what you have, someone will always have more than you and less than you.Get a clue and if you quit crying you can think clearer.Oh and suicide is for cowards and Jesus is for winners.

Maybe you should go to your local library and ask the librarian to find you a history book about the Great Depression. What we are going through is about one tenth of what those people went through during that time, but they were made of sterner stuff, so they survived and rebuilt, but learned and saved, told their descendents, and passed on the knowledge.
Unfortunately, somewhere down the line we seemed to have forgot the message so now it has to be re-learned.
Keep in mind that 'God helps those who help themselves' so it's time for you to quit feeling sorry for yourself and figure a way to survive until times are better.

You know, you had me right up to the last sentence! Just in case you are unaware of this I wanted to let you know...there are more than a hand full of people in this world that don't believe in Jesus. Leave that stuff for Sunday pal!

are you forgetting all of the suicides during the great depression? The fact is no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. It's sad, tragic, some family has lost two loved members. We should not rush to judgement on so little information.(and even then, it's not our place to judge)

Seriously? You know nothing about this CRIME and possible suicide. Yet let's theorize on how Wall Street or The Government caused it. By the way, you forgot to blame their mortgage broker who "took advantage of these poor people" Is it possible they were both sick and in great pain? Who knows...I know this:

Oh - I forgot....

When are we as individuals going to take responsibility for our own path in life? If I was upside down in my mortgage, I would blame myself for not knowing what I was signing when I purchased by far the BIGGEST asset of my lifetime. But, of course, as Californians we choose to blame "that guy" who "screwed me" out of my house.

(dislaimer: I have never owned real estate in CA because I would rather be married to a beautiful woman than my house...just sayin')

Californians, especially YOU Larry, understand this...Sam Walton and T Bone Pickens had nothing to do with this...neither did Country Wide Mortgage. Take responsibility for yourself and quit looking for the typical California way out..."this is somebody else's fault".

This reminds me of the guy(s) over the past year or two who thought it best to kill the entire family after losing a job...To anyone out there now considering this "solution"...please take note: kill yourself and only yourself...the kids have nothing to do with your self imposed misery.

There is no honor in suicide...NONE.

If this was a suicide pact between a husband and wife, then that is their choice to end two lives and none of our business.

And those who went through that terrible period were never asked to suffer that way either. I can bet my money that many of them have contemplated suicide and succeeded. It isn't about cowardice, it's about a feeling utter hopelessness, despair. Again, it's the greedy Wall Street executives who made the Great Depression happen, and everybody started blaming the Jews for that occurrence. Maybe if the people had not elected Herbert Hoover and elected somebody else for president, things might have been different. Who knows.

Think about the black people who had to live through the Jim Crow era of the 1930's, 40's, 50's when discrimination was so rampant from all directions: from the government, from the law, from the employment line, from the white people, first and foremost. They couldn't get jobs and many of them had families to support. Can you blame the black people for their own misfortunes during that time period???

Why is there such a cultural stigma against suicide??? Here's a challenge: show me where the word "suicide" or "self-murder" appears in the Bible, and cite which book and verse you found it. If it's in there, then I would be happy to retract my statement. I know the word "murder" appears in the Good Book, but that word is too vague. I want specificity.

Such a tragic event, I'd appreciate if anyone who knew the couple could write in a brief bio for them either here or on my blog Hills of Woodland (we mostly cover Woodland Hills, but West Hills is our immediate neighbor to the North)- here's the link: http://www.hillsofwoodland.com/2009/11/04/app...

Craig & Donna are my Aunt & Uncle & they will be greatly missed. My aunt was one-of-a-kind! She had the ability to brighten a dark room & just being in her presence brought me joy. My Uncle was a loving, caring, kind man, devoted to my Aunt. I can't even begin to comprehend how or why this happened, but my world is forever changed. My Uncle took a piece of me with him when he decided to take my Aunt's life. My family & I are deeply saddened & in a state of shock. My Aunt was funny & full of life. She found humor in some of the most ridiculous things & I am going to miss her. She was beautiful, she had a contagious laugh & she loved her friends & family with all her heart. I love you Miss Donna! You have been like a mother to me & you have made a difference in my life. Thank you for being there for me through it all. I will think of you always & remember you forever. I love you.

Rhiannon
our deepest condolences to you and your family. Working with and getting to know Donna was a gift we were given. The way she cared for others was genuine. Everyone here has a favorite story, a favorite memory or even a favority funny comment she would have made. Her presence here made a difference, and her absence will be greatly felt.
Please know that your aunt was very loved by everyone here. D.Rosales
