Seems like the Daily News could give more details; like what were they arguing about that led to the fatal shooting. I am from New York and our tabloids are known for being skimpy on details and lurid on headlines, but you out in California give new meaning to the lack of articulation.

Well this is another vague story, sad way for an argument to end up, I hope it was self defense or protecting his daughter and not just killing cause he had a gun in his hand. I am all for the right to own a firearm. I am all for protecting ones self and family and property. I am not for taking a life because you get in a fight and have the bigger weapon. Loosing someone is never easy, the circumstances also add to the grief. Taking someone’s life by accident has to be a tremendous burden to carry.I have to hope this was not intended to kill him. For everyone involved, I do hope that there is healing.

You can never kill someone in your FRONT yard and claim it as justifiable homicide. He was probably just mad he got woke up at 1:00am

Why do you even care about one homicide in our area. Aren't there enough murders, rapes and violent crimes in New York to keep your interest? Watch the Giant game today?

You can kill someone anywhere and CLAIM it justifiable. You don’t know that this guy did not have a weapon of his own or if he was in the yard or in the doorway.

The article said he was not expecting anybody at 1:00am, so maybe he was startled or something. Were the couple arguing or whatever was not explained. You can't just kill someone because they woke you up at 1am, if that is the case, there would be shootings every night.

You are one sick human beings. We are talking about ones life and the loss of life. Where is your compassion. Bryan is the father of this mans grandson and to shoot and ask later, that is ridiculous. Conner will now grow up without a father at the hands of this grandfather.
"The article said he saw Jaime outside with Bryan" Nothing more, nothing less. Just a trigger happy man that will have to look at his grandson and know he killed his father!
