Among the major occupational groups, lawyers are the very worst drivers, and probably due to the fact that lawyers also they have far and away the highest rates of alcoholism and drug abuse among the major occupational groups.

(Among the major occupational groups, lawyers also have far and away the highest rates of depression, suicide, divorce, and psychiatric disorders, and they are also among the "leaders" in domestic violence.)

However getting back to the article, according to the statistics in it, over the last five years, AND IN CALIFORNIA ALONE, there has been an average of over one thousand DUI related traffic deaths per year, and since Califonia has approx one eighth of the nation's total population, let's assume there have been somewhere between eight thousand and ten thouand DUI related traffic deaths per year on a nationwide basis.

An interesting question is how many of them were caused by drunken lawyers, and also, and additionally, how many by lawyers on drugs. In fact, I am willing to bet that every single month a lot more laymen are killed in traffic accidents by lawyers who are drunk and/or drugs than the total of the three lawyers who were killed by Gian Luigi Ferri in the Pettit & Martin incident, an incident which got the lawyers, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, and Bill Clinton so extremely upset.

NOTE: In my immediately above post, I forgot to mention that the California State Bar, and through its secret system of two sets of books, covers up a lot of the alcoholism and drug abuse so many California lawyers are involved in.

My brother in law is a lawyer that is a hopeless alcoholic. He is very smart, however he has the most empty life I could imagine. He has driven drunk numerous times and continues to do so. He is an elitist who thinks he's above everyone. Very sad.

If Reagan hadn't closed the nuthouses, John, you'd be housed there in instead of your meth-fume filled Section 8 ghetto....and hopefully without internet access. Have you found any other poster (except for your other screen names--Kevin Hershey bar, etc) who supports your pathetic drivel?
