Yes he is and I wish more people would get that. All it takes is one idiot acting stupid and irresponsible for people to start screaming that all guns should be outlawed. Look at what happened in DC.Majority of the weapons were locked and unloaded in the bed of the truck. After he informed the police of the weapons, they searched the truck and found 2 loaded handguns in the cab of the truck. These are two live weapons within reach, which is illegal. I believe in our gun rights, but please don't be stupid when doing it. He could have surely had his friend take a bus to the Parking Lot B to avoid this whole mess. Now he is harming our gun ownership rights.

good job???!!!you idiot what happen to "the right to bear arms"...phil has always been a law~abiding citizen and a pillar of the community so back off and you leave this country if your so narrow~minded.

He's a moron who's done great damage to all our right to bear arms. It's guys like your buddy that the anti-gun crowd uses as examples to say the rest of us are too dangerous and irresponsible to have personal firearms. We should throw that pillar of the community out of the country before he does any more damage. I sure as hell am not leaving just because your friend is an idiot.

Have you ever made a mistake? What were the consequences? Did you intend to err, or did it just happen? Why should this poor guy suffer for making a single stupid mistake? There was no criminal intent. A just system would let him off with a warning. In California, the DA will throw every book they can at him. It is mindless. Murderers, rapists, & thieves walk the streets while they waste our tax money prosecuting this guy. I hope he gets a good lawyer and a jury trial. If I were on the jury, he would walk.
Either way he'll never see any of his guns again. Is that justice?

Of course he made a mistake. Everyone does. It's just that most of them don't involve taking loaded firearms onto airport property. That's a pretty big mistake. You'll also note that there has been no story indicating he's going to trial at all. odds are good some of his weapons will be impounded for a while, he may get most of them back, and he'll pay a big fat fine. Yes, that is justice and it will keep him from being such a dumazz again. Who knows, maybe even some of his friends will learn from his mistake. BTW, this wasn't the first time he'd done it, either, this is just the first time he'd been caught. Anybody who "forgets" he has a loaded gun in the car shouldn't have one. Guns are dangerous. Cars get broken in to. It's totally irresponsible to keep loaded guns in the car. If you are a gun owner you shouldn't "forget" if a gun is loaded or not. You should KNOW. That's the most basic principle of gun safety.
