Sounds weak to me. Yes... he was an idiot for not properly storing and transporting these weapons. But a Musket? puuullleeeaasseee.... terrorists and gang members don't carry around muskets unless they're getting ready to do a driveby on the redcoats and fight off the kings men.... lololol His excuse that he was going to the range is VERY plausible.

Another sad case of trumped up charges brought forth by Los Angeles DAs. It was earlier reported that on the day Mr. Dominguez was initially arrested both the FBI and DEA stated he did nothing wrong. The charge of having a loaded weapon is due to fact that his vintage musket was loaded. The added charge of possessing the nunchaku is just sad. Two handles connected by a rope or chain? Really? You can own a medieval period Mace (Handle with an attached piece of chain securing a weighted metal ball with spikes) or Samurai sword but not two sticks with rope? And the possession of testosterone? Jesus. The DA will trump up and pile as many charges onto MR. Dominguez as they can in hopes that he pleads to lesser charges. That way they can come out of this mess looking like heroes and winners who saved LA from a maniac who was gonna shoot up LAX with a black powder musket.

This is not a problem in other states that have much LOWER violent crime rates than Ca.

People have forgot what is REALLY in the 2nd Amendment (AKA The Bill of Rights), which is not only the RIGHT of the people to keep and BEAR Arms, shall not be infringed.

The DA is going to have a difficult time proving the mens rea on his case.(Hard to convict on actus reaus alone).

This sure is ridiculous. Its bad enough to prosecute a guy for leaving his guns in his car, but to prosecute him for having so called "assault weapons"? Thats even worse. There never was any such thing in the first place.

This guy is an idiot and will get some well deserved time. "I forgot the gun was loaded" is not a valid excuse to carry a loaded weapon in your vehicle, even if it is a black powder musket. And who in their right mind drives around with a loaded black powder musket? Especially to the airport? What a dumba$$!!! Throw the book at him...

NEW BREED OF TERRORIST?

Dressing up in Civil War regalia and attacking LAX airport with black powder muskets. The lengthy reload time may make it difficult against all the airport police with standard issue 40 cal. pistols with 10 round clips. I sure hope this guy brought along his bayonet. I'm sure he was upset that he left the nunchucks and steroids at home!

Hey Joe, I guess you forgot about the pistol and the 1000 rounds of ammo! " Police said they found the firearms in the bed of his truck during a routine check, including a loaded handgun, a loaded musket and two semi-automatic rifles." Note: a loaded handgun... Like I said, WHAT A DUMBA$$!!!

Great job to the LAX PD. Lets put all the Terrorist hunters and Terrorist range shooters behind bars where they belong. LAX PD are heros because they saved countless targets and deer from certain destruction.

I don't think he did because the "assault rifle" wasn't loaded. For the many people out there who don't know anything about guns, an "assault rifle" is considered "small arms" in the military.

I read where it was loaded, could be wrong.

As long as he kept the ammo separate from the guns & both were locked up, then any decent lawyer should get the charges dropped. But if the guns were loaded, and I mean any sort of gun, then he'll be charged & probably convicted. And he can't use the whole "I just came from the gun range" as an excuse. Any self respecting gun range will make you remove the ammo from your guns prior to even entering their establishment.

You people are deranged. Who cares what the military considers an assault rifle, he was at the AIRPORT not at a military exercise or something. Anyone who drives around with stuff like this is not only an idiot but looking for some kind of trouble. Maybe you are all of sound mind (??), but for someone who may not be as stable as others a truckload of guns and ammo (regardless of the TYPE of gun) is dangerous. And when it comes to things of this nature, I think assuming he might be dangerous could save a lot of lives. Yes, we all have certain rights, but what about my right to not get shot at by some wacko carrying around a musket?
