There is a monthly business development meeting hosted by Kay Bennett. The next meeting is set for July 26th (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at the Hillyard Hall at the Senior Center on Ft. Churchill Rd in Silver Springs. THE PUBLICE IS WELCOME. The emphasis is in developing businesses in the community. At the present time, a theme or slogan needs to be found to identify the area. If anyone has an idea, please let the committee know. I have thought of "Welcome to Silver Springs, the high desert crossroads of NV". I'm sure someone can come up with something better than that. We also are trying to help those in need of cleanup of their property. There is help out there and resource info can be given to those in need. The meetings keep updating the NDOT changes in our area, such as the round a bout at the four corners, the Opal Street exit to Hwy 50 from the Reno Tahoe Industrial complex, the widening of 50, etc. Occasionally a Lyon county commissioner will be there to update info also and discuss the possibility of bringing a grocery store, pharmacy, bank to our area to provide the infrastructure necessary to bring businesses here.
You can contact Kay Bennett at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns, or better yet, come to the next meeting on the 26th. More input can help get Silver Springs residents working locally!
