What happened to the "Grandfather clause"?
I can understand not being allowed to replace the pet w/the same breed....BUT only a few days to comply????? This is unreal.
I can't say I care for these breeds of dogs, but if it were me.......the city would be talking to my lawyer.

Yes, she is a pitbull but she has done no harm to anyone. The owners have complied with the city ordinance of Osceola then the city decides to change the ordinance to ban pitbulls from town.
Due to a complaint of a bigwig. This pit is neutered and female and is a sweetheart.

Although other dogs in town run a muck and bite others it's okay for those breeds to be in town.

It is idiotic to have a dog ordinance for just specific breeds. It should be for all dogs and owners. Here's a tip: ALL DOGS BITE!! Not just pitulls.

Now this family has to move and they have done no harm to anyone. All they wanted to do was live a happy and peaceful life in Osceola near their family with their pitbull.

It is sad to see the wealthy in town have nothing better to do than to bother those who are trying to make a decent living.

I feel it to be idiotic for the city council to pass this ban because ALL DOGS BITE!!

I also live in a town that just passed the same ordiance. My dog is a mutt but resembles a pit bull and our ordiance stated even if the dog resembles the any of the breeds that you have 30 days to get rid of your dog or you can get a $500 dollar a day fine and they may be able to put your dog down. I would think that there is a grandfather clause to protect my poor Daisy. She is a very loving dog and I don't want to have to get rid of her.

Lynn I am sorry that you also have a city council with no common sense. I am sure you love your dog as we do Maggie. We are still fighting this ordinance. We don't have the right name or socialize with the same type of upstanding citizens in our town. So they will not grandfather Maggie in. She still has done nothing wrong. Best of Luck we will be praying for you and your loved one.

We too are trying to fight it. They have not came to us yet so we are sitting here waiting for it to happen. They will not grandfather any of these dogs in here either. It is sad that we can not live as free americans. Good luck to you also,

What is the excuse for banning Maggie when the dog has done nothing wrong. It is all how they are raised. They dont think about this, for example if some parent beat their child and taught it how to fight and kill what do you think the child would do. So should we kill the kids because they were taught that way. No! So why put down pitballs because some idiots think that they want to teach the dogs to fight to make money. I have seen some mean poodles out there and but as soon as they hear the word pitbull their like "Oh my is it mean"

This ordeal isn't over with yet. But if any one has a dog that is on the list just say it is a mixed breed. because Maggie will show all the people in Polk County just how wise they really are. There are Laws that protect people against harasment even if you don't socialize with certain folks.
