Remember parents, he teaches your kids. As for Johnson, he better be careful if found guilty or you could lose that salary you get from the taxpayers. How much was it last year? Was it almost $68,000?

Between cops and teachers I cannot tell which group gets arrested the most. Seems like once a week we hear of one or the other going to jail.

You say 68,000 like that's a lot of money. Get a real job and you won't be so jealous. He could work for Georgia Power or Ford not had to go to college and work less hours and make more than that. Put your notice in at Krystal and try for something better so you won't be so jealous.

Really? 68k is $34 an hour slick, and if you work for GP or Ford, they do not give you two and one half months off in the summer, two weeks for Christmas, one week for spring break, and all
federal holidays off.

Please educate yourself before you open that piehole next time.

You are assuming a 40 hour week. There are no teachers that work a 40 hour week. 9 hours minimum per day. Plus add in a football game or other event and you are looking a 55 hour week or more. You should also educate yourself. Your days off are wrong too. I am pretty sure high school principles work all summer. It's this thing called summer school and summer sports. Christmas is a great time for high school tournaments in basketball and wrestling. (Plus Saturday games and school) You are just pain wrong and ave no idea what you saying. There is no overtime pay its just all party of the job. No time and a half and no second shift deferential for all those days. No double time on the weekends. 68k is not nearly enough, check other counties before you post.

So a few football games in the fall add 15 hours a week to work. Please tell me you are not that foolish, and if you do not think this dude does not have most of the summer off, two weeks at christmas, one week at spring break, and most federal holidays off, you are kidding yourself. And if you actually think this guy goes to every sporting event you are also kidding yourself.

But what I had to laugh the most at slick was you summer school comment. You do realize teachers that volunteer for those jobs are paid extra right? You act as if teachers are forced to teach summer school.

And since you told me to educate myself, I will ask you to do the same. This man is only an assistant principal, not the top dog.

I heard rumors among the kids that Johnson might have been set up by the senior he had arrested on the last day of school for marijuana. They say that she knew he kept a gun in his car and had him followed to Floyd County where her uncle is a police officer and reported him for road rage. Just a conspiracy theory probably made up by the vivid imaginations of high school students but I do love conspiracy theories!

Heard the same thing. If true it probably would be impossible to prove.

People don't realize the real hours they work and what they are actually making by the hour. I checked in to it years ago and decided there was no way I would choose that career. There are so many sorry parents these days as well that don't raise their children and expect teachers to educate and raise them.

agreed SOME students are not disciplined but yelling at them at school all day doesn't help
teachers have some of them worst kids of their own so I don't want them "raising" mine thank you
and, yes, I do "expect teachers to educate" but that's a joke given some of them don't have a decent education themselves!

I agree there are some teachers I can't stand and consider worthless but there are some that do a great job. Some kids are failed at home and can't be helped by a teacher. Kudos to the good teachers. I wouldn't have the job.

You know there are many jobs I don't want but you really don't hear anyone complaining about having those, but for some reasons that's all I hear from teachers! If they aren't whining about pay it's administration, parents, the federal government, the state, you name it! Some even complain about helpers - geez, I'm surprised you get any.

For the record, since it always comes up, 12-month employees don't get the same holidays as teachers. AND the salaries on open.gov at what they were actually paid.

If you don't like what you do find something else and don't make kids suffer

I don't think any teachers have complained about their jobs on here. It's people complaining about teachers and administration attending training.

Did he keep that gun in his car on school grounds? That would be even more intresting.

I love how people sign online and speak their minds with no fear. It is amazing what power they have when their true identity is masked. I also find it amazing how people want to get online, under those masked screen names and belittle other people. Just setting the record straight for some of you...if you do not like the way your children are being taught, pull those little sweethearts out of school and educate those delinquents yourself! Since most of you obtained an education from Polk School District, I am sure you are equipped to do that yourself! I am sure half of the people on here has received at least a 9th grade education. You can teach your brats to be blubbering idiots such as yourself! MS04, let me personally address you: can you please find something besides "slick" to call people? You sound like an old school, washed up, has been. No one speaks that way anymore. You sit on Rockmart topix all day, spouting your knowledge (which you do not possess), and you make a fool of yourself. There is no way one can be a "know it all" on so many subjects. You merely appear as if you have "rode the donkey around the world" facing in the wrong direction. It is funny how you "claim" to know every job's salary that is discussed on here. With the amount of time you devote to online bickering, we all know your salary. We pay your salary with our tax money. I think they call it welfare.

Very nice rant, I am impressed. As for pulling the "little sweethearts" out, I have a better idea, how about demanding teachers who are paid by us to do their job. When it comes to me knowing someones salary, I damn sure do if they work for the state in any fashion. But hey Gabby, if you have no problem with teachers and police getting arrested for violent offenses, then thats on you.

Wouldn't be too hard to do something like that especially since some cops aren't too bright.

This may be a good lesson for all school employees - get off the Facebook with your students and quit sharing so much of your personal life.

Most teachers can not do their jobs because ignorant parents stand in the way of that. Parents are much to quick to lay blame upon the schools. Truth be told, parents need to discipline their "sweeties" in the home so that they act like humans while they are in school. Most of the teacher's days are spent having to educate children as to how to act. This takes time away from the children that are there to receive an education. Teacher's jobs are NOT to teach morals. That is something that should be taught in the home. Sex education should not have to be taught in school either, that is another subject that needs to be tackled in the home. I doubt that will happen though, since I am sure half of their mothers never knew how to say "no" (which is why we have such a high welfare rate). Polk county is full of low life women (and men) that should have learned what birth control was at a very young age...maybe then we would not have so many "lil sweeties" wandering around acting like trash.

But yet they continue going to work, and collecting a paycheck for a job according to Gabby they cannot do. Who does that? If I under the employ of a business and was not able to do the tasks at hand, I would not just stay and contiued to be paid for inadaquate performance. But I do believe many teachers would have not one problem doing that.
