What a surprise! Please get to Zulu's trail.

Family and searchers...NOW you have important clues on where to search.

This California reader (with 2 dogs) has been praying Zulu will return to her family SOON!

Well do you think these people could hurry it the heck up. Poor little Zulu..out there lost wandering around wondering where her master has gone and why he left her behind. Precious Lord, Please be merciful and provide the solution to bring Zulu home to her loving family. Find favor with her dear Lord. You said you care about all creatures great and small. Your eye is on the sparrow, I know your eye is on Zulu as well. Please help her not be afraid of the people who only want to rescue her. Speak to her Lord, fill her with your peace and guide her to the right people who will rescue her and reunite her with her family in El Paso, Tx. Do it for your glory Lord, In Jesus Name, Amen.

Does anyone know if Zulu has a nick name something only the family would know and that she might answer to?

How about putting up a big cage in the area and placing a dummy in it and lay the dummy down like Mr. Sumrall was laying. Maybe she would go and lay beside him and someone could wait outside and then lock the cage with food and water inside until her family can come and get her. What do you think? They could put some of his clothing on the dummy with his scent on it and she may stay with the dummy.

She's waiting for him to come and get her so she's staying right where they were. She will come to him if somehow someone could just get him to her. Maybe they could put food and water out for her if there is already water someone could put food out for her to be sure she stays nourished and maybe some of his clothing. She's waiting for him to come back for her. She looks so depressed like she doesn't understand why he hasn't shown up yet. Does anyone know how Mr. Sumrall is doing? If he's able to walk around down there some people could come back with him to make sure he stays safe and she would come to him in a heart beat. Hold on Zulu, please hold on. She knows he was hurt and she is just waiting for him to get better so he can come and get her.

Well they could try driving him around the back way around where they found him lying under the tree and he could retrace his steps in reverse order. She may be right there waiting for him. It's worth a try. They could send enough supplies and people with him to ensure his safety. If the people would stay in the background then he could call for her..(just him) and I bet she would come then.

Without any evidence to the contrary, it seems that no one, not even the family, is actively pursuing the rescue or recovery of this animal. This depresses me, but it also doesn't seem wise for me to travel out to the Gila and take this on myself. But I certainly do wish that there were some publicized or coordinated effort, to which I could contribue.

Oh, but I do think that rescue efforts are in place right now. The family, and many other people DO want this dog rescued. It's more complicated than the average person realizes once a dog has been out in the 'wild'. They become very spooky and recovery is difficult. Live traps must be checked daily, and the camera is in a very remote area that apparently can't be checked right now due to recent snow. However, please don't anybody give up on Zulu.

Check out the website mentioned in this last article. Read about lost animal behavior and then start praying, chanting, lighting candles or whatever it is that you do. Don't forget the trauma that this family has just been through. Robert only just woke up from a coma, after all. I too want to see this dog saved.....very much, but my heart goes out to this family.....all of them.

I have it from a reliable source that the family will be coming down this weekend weather permitting to call out to Zulu as voices she recognizes. I know this is so disheartening, one would think for such a heroic dog someone would coordinate a larger effort on her behalf. She's even more a hero to me now at this point than she was when they rescued Mr. Sumrall. Bless her dear and sweetheart. I'm up most nights looking her way praying the snow storms away and asking her to hold on. Please pray that she comes when they call her. I've been praying she gets into a cage if they are still there and the door locks with enough food inside and judging by the photo they put in the paper the cages are covered so that would keep her warm. So very, very sad. My heart aches for her it really does. I have faith that God will rescue her soon. He cares about all of his creatures great and small. When he does, please remember to give him all the glory.

Maybe someone in Silver City area could offer free, living accomidations for family members, so they don't have to drive to El Paso every day....possibly even a church???

Or even an RV..... that could be placed near the site and the use of a megaphone/loudspeaker...using the RV's generator. Ham operators? ATVs? Winter hiking groups? Community support needed!
