Kountze Police Department

I would like to hear what other people of Kountze and other local areas have to say how the citys police department is handling things. I see and hear things are good and bad.

I believe that Kountze Police Department has both good and bad. I have had to personally deal with each- Last year, I was the victom of being falsly accused of a crime- I showed the evidence to the officer and a local sherriff deputy- the officer openingly claimed not to be aware of the evidence right in front of the deputy- I asked the deputy to intervene- and was ignored. I was shocked! Though, I am very aware of the good- the chief of police is a good and just man- I would trust him. However, some of the newer officers have caused myself and others to lack faith in the police system of Kountze. I suppose every police department has a crooked officer.

I AM VERY PLEASED AND PROUD WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN KOUNTZE. IF YOU PICK UP THE SILSBE BEE IT SHOWS ABOUT 5 TO 7 DRUG ARREST AND MANY DWI ARREST A MONTH IF NOT IN A WEEK. I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH MOST IF NOT ALL THE OFFICERS IN KOUNTZE AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED BADLY, THEY HAVE A JOB TO DO. I THINK THE PROBLEM ARE THE ONES WHO ARE COMPLAINING AND THE ONES PROBABLY GETTING INTO TROUBLE. TO Another Concerned Citizen WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY A CROOKED OFFICER?

I have lived in kountze for many many years i have seen some good and bad police come and go. As for now i feel that our police system is corrupt they don't see a crime they see a color. Don't misunderstand not all are bad but the select few make it hard on everyone. I do although believe also in the chief of police i think he is a honest and just man but the one's working on the side if him are as crooked as two left feet.

I noticed in the comments listed above, by A life-long citizen, that there is good reason to believe that a person of color and foreign origin would not be inclined to find justice in Hardin County. A life-long citizen says "As for now i feel that our police system is corrupt they don't see a crime they see a color."
I am hoping to get some feedback that would shed light on the observation alluded to in this posting. Please provide information which would shed light on the assertion made by this Lumberton citizen.
How many citizens feel the same way? Is it a silent epidemic? or Is this the raving of a disgruntled citizen with an ax to grind?

I think Kountze Police Department is doing an excellent job, ALL OF THEM. I do not think they discriminate against or have a problem with race or color. I think the person or persons with the problems are the ones who stay in trouble with the law and are looking for a easy ride and they give themselves a bad rep. GET A JOB AND A LIFE. The Kountze Police Department consist of different nationalities. If you abide by the law you wouldn't have an issue and you wouldn't think that you know the Police. Everyone I have encountered I have found to be fair and helpful. Thank You Kountze Police Department, you are doing a great job.

i think the sheriffs department has alot of answering to do....any incounters i have had with them they are all rude and act like you are the criminal when you are the one seeking help. they act like you are bothering them....like how dare you call us.and just think we pay their salary. they are supposed to be working for us.hmmmm

I think that the people who get tangled up with police officers are doing something wrong. I am 29 years old and I have never had an encounter with an officer in a negative way. If you aren't speeding and your not doing wrong you will not have to worry about the police messing with you. They are people just like us and they have bad days just like us but the difference is that there every action is held underneath a magnify glass unlike you and I for the public to pick out everything bad that we do. There will always be people that don’t like police officers no matter what. Although they are normally the ones that are getting arrested daily and making the mistakes, and they always blame the officer.

kountze Police stop black people when they see you drive nice cars, Like we don't get out and work for nice things also. Not all black people deal drugs or hang out late at night. So don't judge a person by the car they drive.

tdk4life name one incident when the police in kountze have pulled over a "black" person for driving a nice car. what is your proof, has it happened to you? or just the criminals in the city? can you say 100% the police are doing this? if you can by all means do something to stop this, but if it is not happening to you have nothing to say unless you have proof. i read the other post from you about the drugs in kountze and you are right the dealers get right back out. back on the race thing. if you live in a area when half the people are white and the other half are black or if the many population is one or the other what, who do you think well be pulled over more. its call the law of averages when there is more of one thing in a area the better chance the more contact.

I dont really think the cops have much to do with drugs in Ktz maybe their hands are tied when it comes to stuff like that all im saying is maybe people should remove the blinders to see just how deep the finger of bigger names "YOU ALL KNOW WHO IM TALKING ABOUT" in the town go. Everyone knows nothing comes into that town without going through them first no matter how small it maybe.
