This place is pathetic they hire temps treat them like chit lay them off after a couple of weeks and then hire more to do the same as before. Its a cycle that repeats itself.

Its not lookin good more layoffs at gates and yet they keep advertising for help in the local paper.
With cronies like this I give them 1 year.
I also have heard they have been inflating their books and are actually about to go bankrupt.

Hopefully the churches will step up and help the people in need. Maybe some of the churches could get on here and tell the masses what kind of help can be expected.

Well, the big layoff never came. You folks must be hearing some of the myriad rumors that circulate in ye olde house of rubber.
Gates is an unbelievable rumor mill. That's what they produce best.
Cost cutting measures are being invented daily so that Tomkins,(Gates parent company), can pass more along to their share holders. You see, Tomkins doesn't produce a single product. They buy companies and milk them for every last cent.
Gates Siloam probably won't close its doors for some time as the Gates Corporation North America has closed its South Carolina plant and merged it with the Siloam plant. They done put too many eggs in our basket to let it fail.
However there are probably more "cost cutting" measures to come as long as this economic downturn stays turned down.
Some people in slower areas have been cut to four days a week. They're getting about $70.00 a week unemployment plus $25.00 stimulus money. Not bad for a three day weekend every week. Keep you posted.

Gates is moving all the operations to China....and Franklin Electric already moved all their operations to Mexico..so the only companies hiring are Wal-Mart and Atwoods.

You've got to be kidding me. This is so silly that no one will buy what your selling. Franklin has been in this process for a long time. This is not news. Seriously...

Please! You really don't know what you're talking about. The corporate dynamics of Gates are complicated, but suffice it to say; "That is ridiculous!"

Three years thats way too generous the temp agency told me that if the economy don't improve by June that corporate will cut their losses and move operations to Mexico.
