Now the people are doing more dangerously than before. They are holding thier phones down below window level so they cannot be seen. That means they have their eyes off the road even more. Those of you who do that, please stop. I am driving on these streets with my child in the car.

There was a cop just the other day texting while driving at Southwest and Highland, and rear ended the person in front of him. Nice to know they follow the law themselves!

If youíre constantly sending text messages and your thumbs are starting to feel a little creaky and painful, all that texting could be the cause. Unlimited texts might be great for your bottom line, but the habit could be increasing your risk of developing arthritis in your hand. The data aren't in yet, partly because arthritis can take many decades to develop and texting is a relatively recent phenomenon. But itís still a good idea to give your thumbs a break when you can.

And that button shows the person was actually driving a vehicle? Right.

So sorry I should have realized I was conversating with some one who is just not old enough and or to ignorant to realize what it would feel like to take some innocent person or childs life while he was texting and driving.

You claimed there is a detail button on the phone. You should have thought more clearly about your sarcastic response to the PP. The point is that anyone can say they saw a person texting and driving. There would be no proof unless an officer is practically sitting beside them. If An officer finds the car, unless he or she saw the person actively driving, it would not hold up. Even if the phone shows someone texted, it doesn't show the person was driving at the time.

As for what you posted, I don't realize what it would feel like because I don't do it, if you realize what it would feel like, you have apparently done it.

How could the police know if a person was texting or just using their phone?

Why don't the police simply use the statute that prohibits inattentive driving?

We don't need a hundred laws prohibiting specific actions like texting, applying makeup, reading a map, etc.

All of those things are already prohibited because they result in inattentive driving.

27-51-104. Careless and prohibited driving.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or drive any vehicle on the public thoroughfares or private property in the State of Arkansas in violation of the following prohibited acts:
(8) To operate a vehicle in any manner, when the driver is inattentive, and such inattention is not reasonable and prudent in maintaining vehicular control.

You don't text and drive ? then why all of the comments? Why do you want to be so negative about things that people say about something that could kill someone? And no I dont text and drive I knew someone that was killed because of another texting that person ended up killing thereself: All i am saying is have a little respect for others ok you have a merry Christmas!

If you would stop breaking any and all laws, use common sense, practice safety first and good manners in all things then you would not have to worry about what the police are going to do with you and whether or not the other guy is going to smack you up side your empty head after you start a fight.

Not one thing posted was negative. Did you even pretend to read the comments? Now, that question could be interpreted as negative.
