One word of caution here. The officers shot when the perpetrator POINTED the gun at them. They were lucky as that is too late. Test after test as well as officer training shows a shooter can turn and shoot at you BEFORE you can mentally and physically pull your trigger! Why? Because he makes the mental decision first. Where does it say someone gets to point a weapon at an officer before getting shot? He should have been shot when he disobeyed the first command to put those weapons down. Again - the Atlanta Police are lucky there is no grieving police widow today.

But wait.... the criminal "waived" is gun. That wood indicate that he didnt want to use it. Oh weight, perhaps the reporter just cant spell. Of course, it could just have ben that the whether was affecting weather or not spelling was a factor.

Oh no!!! I can't believe they shot him!!! He had a gun and officers were telling him to put it down and then he pointed it at them!!! Why did they shoot the poor innocent criminal? Thank god they did, he had it coming! I m sure, however that someone will turn this into a "wrongful" death, based on something ridiculous whether it's race, age, or anything else possible. Just like the idiot 'sickoftherealdiscrimination' wake up people it has nothing to do with anything but the fact he had a gun pointed at a POLICE OFFICER, how is there ANY confusion on why he got shot? That's like jumping off a building and then people asking why someone died?

It would be great if law enforcement had the resources to collect dna from adult criminals and youth criminals so that a study could be performed to calculate means to reduce crime by sterilazation. Crime is relative.

For those who apparently misunderstood my earlier post: The reporter used the wrong word when stating that "two guns WAIVING one of them." The correct word is wave. The rest of my post contained other homonyms (words that have the same sound but not spelling/meaning). My post was a dig at the person that is supposed to be a paid professional that cant even tell the difference between waive and wave! So, Jason, I guess YOU are the idiot for not being able to pick up on that!

They just say that for liability purposes and to make the thing sound more heroic.

Unfortunely he did point his gun at the officers. He was also given ample warnings and comands. I know this b/c I was there... Not something I want to see again.
