I really hate to hear the book bug is closing. I really liked going there. I wonder where we can take our books to now? And what will happen to the credit that is built up on my account?

Perhaps these are questions for the owners, not Topix?

I was in there yesterday, and they said that it had sold and was going to remain open.

I hope that, while under new management, the Book Bug will become a friendlier place.

I personally have not ever had a problem with the people that run the store. I'm finding these comments confusing to me. I do know I would see different people working it but I was always treated well by them all. I'm really glad it's going to stay open.

I think it's crazy how you can have credit there but still have to pay per book, even though you have enough credit to cover it???

Book Bug was in business for many many years so the owner must have been doing something right. Glad to hear someone is buying it and keeping it open.

I understand that, BUT, you have a CREDIT, and they can't just minus it from that?? That is my point.

My understanding is that sales tax has to be a seperate charge because of tax records. Handling, just what they do.

I would have loved to have that business. It needs a bigger store though and the books really need straightening out and taken off the floor.

I'm also glad someone did buy it so it won't close.

Do you think a business can stay open and pay bills by just trading one item for another? Small mentality. She charged you sales tax on your purchases and 10cents for every book you brought in that she had to dispose of in one way or another. She was a retail store with overhead...not the library!
