I'm from Cape and my mom lives in Sikeston. She was very ill this past year and in hospital. We hired a lawn company to mow her yard when it needed it. They said they would manage the yard. Come to find out from her neighbors and the invoice they sent they were mowing it every week. Even when there was no growth of grass. One neighbor told me that they wasn't even weed trimming the yard every time they was there. That one guy just ran over the yard with mower cutting nothing and other guy stood there with a blower no weed trimming was done.
I know I've seen a bunch of lawn business in Sikeston. I need to find a ethical company that will be honest and mow the yard when it needs it. Not when the lawn company pocketbook needs the money. It has been the hottest and driest summer I can ever remember. The neighbors have told me that this year the grass has only grown enough to mow about every twenty days. It's been the same in Cape. When I was in Sikeston last time. I saw another company mowing a dead brown field that didn't need it. The guy mowing was just stirring up dust and dead grass.
Can someone recommend a lawn company that is ethical about mowing? Please no companies that have illegal immigrant help.

My brother might do it. HE does a great job and he is ethical. He mows on the side. I'll have him drop by Topix and leave his email.
He has worked for several lawn companies in the past and mentioned to me before that he hated working for them. He was ashamed knowing he was mowing yards for those lawn companies that didn't even need mowed. I'm sure he can relate to your frustration.

I recommend Newton Lawn Care. They do good work, only mow when necessary.

I stopped by Causey's on the way home the other day. They said they were not taking any more mowing business. They said there is so many lawn companies in Sikeston now that they were getting squeezed. That so many companies are underbidding jobs it's next to impossible to make a profit mowing now. They said they was primarly concentrating on their landscape and nursery business.
From what they told me I really need to be careful of who I hire. Really great people I talked to there.
Please

What happened? I've been using them for the past season, and they've been good.

Ten years ago, Cox charged me $60 to mow and trim my yard, and that was absurd. I never called him back. Newton only charges $30 for the same yard.

Well, I haven't gotten close enough to smell any beer, and it's hard to tell if people are "messed up" when they're doing physical labor in 100-degree heat.

I don't care if they were drinking or not. They've taken care of my yard for years and they do a great job and you can't hardly beat the price.

No them people are all over Morehouse topix acting trashy. The Loflins is who it is,trust me they talk bad about everyone on there.I'd rather mow the yard myself than to let people like that near my home.
