I've had my last Kirby burger.

$7 for under cooked frozen french fries, a greasy burger on a semi stale bun, and a drink? REALLY?

Add to that the greasy haired "waitress" asking the cook where she should get her next "tat"....I've lost my appetite.

I agree. that was my families favorite haunt and without Sharon Kirby and the family involved it has gone down hill. Why would we want to pay those prices for a patty that does not cover the bun.

The last time I ate there it was gross. I am not sure what kind of meat the burger was, but it wasn't good.

When the man who owns it now took over everybody should of seen it was going to go to hell in a basket. And I agree the food is awful now for sure.

For the price you pay for there nasty food, you can go to Grecian SteakHouse. Grecian's has excellent food and service.

My dog eats better .. but a big part of this is Don Newton running off business with his attitude, and having to have the ones left pay about three times the right price. Since Red died it has been in a slow decline, but you're right...the price is rediculous for what you get. Used to be a small burger was 1/4 pound ... now it is 1/6th and smashed to make it look bigger.

I think the food is petty much the same as it always was. But I'll warn everyone not to go in there within an hour of closing time.

The waitresses want to get out the door right on the clock, so they drag out the filthy mop and bucket and slop bleach all over the floor and stack the chairs while customers are still eating. The sight and smell of this is awful. This job should not be done while customers are still in the restaurant.

I have overheard this numerous times. They just packed up their stuff and moved their stores to Cape.

Seriously? The guy who took over from Sharon Kirby cleaned it up a bunch. It looks cleaner than ever and it doesn't stink like a dirty ashtray. I've always loved kiby burgers and when i get to town I always have to get me one. The waitstaff is kind of a rough crowd but they're alwasy nice to me and my family. I got some fries that I didnt like and told them and they got me some more and took it off my bill. I do miss the coke in a bottle.

I agree the food is terribly over priced. And the
waitresses well they are down right nasty. I would be afraid of catching something in there. Last meal I tried to eat in there was almost carried off by cockroaches. It is truly not the same anymore and it just keeps getting worse. Don really needs to clean up his staff. He has gotten rid off the best ones and not smart enough to see that. Just bad management...

I never seen any bugs but I gotta agree the place is managed bad. Former employees say that the owner has been bad sick and the employees have been stealing him blind for the last couple of years. I still love a kb and the price is fair to me.

I've heard good and bad about the place, but ALL restaurants in Sikeston catch grief some time or other. personally, I wouldn't eat at Lambert's because last time they were trying to feed us rolls and green beans before the main course came!
and the taco places have too many tennagers working them- a couple of them should be on "flyswat patrol" instead of standing around running the mouth about sh#t they're doing after work...

I'll bet they were running their "road kill" special .. Don does cut the cost every chance he gets.
Watch out for Macrie down there though .. she got caught once boogying in the back room with her boyfriend once before they opened, and like I heard, it's a booger when you get caught on the job with your pants down. It's sure not the old Kirby's it used to be when they had the pin ball machine and TV going all the time.

There are some that work at Kirby's that shouldn't be working anywhere with their attitudes and some are downright hateful. Reenee and Margaret are two of the nastiest ones, with no morals and not much else other than bitch about what doesn't get done by the others. They've run off all the good help, and some of the good help was set up and lied on by Marcie and her select few. If I were running the place and could hire and fire ... I guarantee with 5 -6 decent employees, I could increase wages a little, lower prices a lot, and keep the place neat and clean, and still make a good income. But don't tell Don...he already knows how to run a business (into the friggin' ground) and has Marcie, Margaret, and Renee helping to make sure that no good help stays.

kirbys used to be an awesome place to eat and work! I should know i worked there for 2 years. I don't know if anyone will remember, but Pam worked at kirby's for years and years. I am happy to say she was my mother! she passed away almost 3 years ago know from cancer, but kirby's used to be our second home when sharon still owed it. Working for Don Newton wasn't all that bad, but he always expected something for nothing. If anyone remembers my mom, she was outgoing and probably the best waitress you would ever meet, even when we were so busy during rodeo! Im sure if you think back and remember you'll understand what i am talking about. I haven't ate a kirby burger in probably 5 years or more and done plan on it for the rest of my life!!

Mandy I remembger you, your mom and sister all well...you were all great there, and Don lost a lot when you all left. Some rumors were spread .. it was Renee, Margaret, and Marcie tappin the till ... and probably still are. None of the better and honest employees stay long at all. If you were back, it would be 100% better than it is now, or has been since you left. I loved you, your mom, and sister. The real "A" Team ... the best of the best

Don Newton may have his good points, but running a restaurant is not his strongest one. I found a dead cock roach in some chili the last time I was there ... and one of their "managers" as she calls herself was using the "F" word a lot in ear shot of customers, and even told one customer who just walked in to get the "F" out of there, she didn't want his fat ass in there, and refused to wait on him. I could tell the guy had done nothing and was hurt by those unwarrented comments, and he turned quietly and started to walk out, then she told him she was "kidding" ... That's not kidding in my book. That's going out of the way to hurt someone's feelings and to embarrass them. If it would have been me, I would have been tempted to slap the stuffin out of that nasty little b**ch and send her back to the west end where she loves it so much. I do respect the guy for holding his temper and not responding as many would...Later this b***h lied and said the guy she called a fat ass had called her that first when in reality he hadn't said a wordd at all. I was there, heard and saw the whole thing ... Renee is the mouthy little skank she's always been. She seems especially proud of her inter-racial live in situation and her illigetimate half breed kids (I don't blame the kids for the errors of the parents .. the kids are innocent victims too

thank you rupert for your comments about me, my mom, and sister. We all loved working there and all the customers were like friends, and some of them even kinda family. I wish things were the way they used to be. Kirby's has so much potiental for being one of the cutest little resturants that has been around since 1907. It is a real shame what has happened to the place, and that people with no morals whatsoever work there, running off all the business. I wonder if they realize if they dont have any customers they cannot steal money. lol. i know from seeing it with my own eyes that renee, margaret, and marcie all stole money. I told don newton, but he didn't believe me so i quit because they had already tried to set up my mom and she left and i wasn't letting them get the oppurtunity to set me up to. maybe he will realize soon that he needs to get all new people in there. He might actually realize how much money he has been missing too!! seriously? How do you NOT catch on to that?
