Me and my husband just moved here a few months ago. We have found Sikeston to be a pretty good place to live, since we both work here. I have had no problems here at all except Wal Mart HairSmart. I went in there to get my hair cut, so the lady cut it. And used my Debit card. I sighned the recept. But didn't put a ______ through the tip line (my fault) So i called the Salon and told them they withheld more the the haircut price, well last week they were remodeling and wasn't there to answer my call. So when they reopened i called and showed up Monday. And they showed me my recipt . They put a tip in there, which i did not do.I told them i didn't do that, also the lady that cut my hair, was there (she was new)she said she didn't do it. But i told them a tip is a gift that was offered to the lady.I DID NOT GIVE THE GIFT. Did you know they believed her instead of me. Ifi would have tipped her i would not be here arguing with you now. She would not refund the money. But i do know i will never go there again, and always put a line through the TIP line. Has anyone ever had a problem with this place for adding a tip when they werent suppost to9. Let me know. Just curiose.

just wondering... is there a reason you didn't tip? was the cut bad or something? I have never gotten my hair done there but a friend of mine did and her hair looks great.
if you are looking for a new place to do your hair here in Sikeston, I would recommend Blades off of Malone in the downtown area or Attitudes over beside Walgreens (I think). I have had my hair done in both places and they both do a good job. Their doesn't seem to be high turn over at either place.

Those people get paid by the hour. There is no need to tip them. If they only got paid by the cut then yes by all means I well They should get a tip. But aint no one at walmart good enought to be tipped.

Waitresses and waiters make like 2.25 an hour. Their tip is the majority of their paycheck. However, even then the customer is not responsible for paying their bills. But that is beside the point. At a regular paying job a tip is a tip - a reward for an exceptional job.

"what's my name" your name is Cindy and your a grown woman acting like a child posting crap on the Internet! Use a little common sense lady if we were gonna be stupid enough to write a tip on someones reciept and risk our job.... It would be a GOOD tip not $3 And really who throws a fit over $3 anyways!? And for the record we do NOT get paid hourly wage we work off of commission. We greatly appreciate all the buisness regulars and other walk ins all included and don't appreciate you talking this way about our buisness. We take pride in doing good haircuts, color. Ect.... And we always welcome new customers

I go to smart styles every time I get my hair cut and have never had a problem there. I've been going there for a few years and the same girl always cuts my hair and does a wonderful job. They do seem to have a big turnover there but there are a few that have stayed awhile. I always tip my stylist too because I asked her being nosy one day how they got paid and she said they don't get the full amount of each cut they get percent of it

Well I think smart style is the worst place in town. The students at e-clips do a better job then you and so much cheaper.

I throw a fit over three dollars I don't recall authorizing. In fact, I want my change back - even if it is just a penny. Until I give it to you, it belongs to me. Yes, "Cindy" would have been better served to contact her bank or cc company, but you know what, the heads up via topix is nice too. I'll take my business somewhere employees won't be tempted to add any kind of tip - be it 3 dollars or 30 dollars - to my bill. And just for the record, skimming 3 dollars off every customer would make you a whole lot more money with less risk of being caught than taking one big lump sum. As you succiently pointed out, the majority of people tend to overlook errors like that as their own mistake.

Go to independents. There are some good hair stylists at chain outfits. I think i would buy a Flowbee before I got my hair cut at China-mart.

I use Tina there at Wal-Mart for my son. She does an awesome job. I have had problems in the past from others but I won't name them on here. And I agree with the first poster.... If she didn't want to leave a tip and it was added to her bill, be it 3 dollars or even 3 cents, it's not right!!! She deserves her money back. Go to your bank and dispute the charge! That's all you have to do! It will take a few weeks but you WILL get your money back!

I cannot believe you would be so unprofessional as to call someone out. Complaining about a $3 tip?!! YOU WORK AT A SALON IN WALMART!!! I would NEVER get my hair done in Walmart! You are absolute trash for being so unprofessional.

Yea, I believe that the reason they (only )added a $3 tip was because they thought she wouldn't say anything about it. They've probably done the same to others. I've had my hair cut there before and what they did, I could have easily done myself - Cut my hair straight across. I've been to a beauty school for a hair cut that was way better than that. I had another run in with this walmart salon. My son had left a coat there by accident at their closing time. I called walmart and they said they could see it through their (salon) gate. The next day nobody could find it.

I wouldn't advise anybody to go there. Apparently they steal kids coats and money if you decide not to tip. That's aside from the crappy hair cuts they'll have you walking out with.
