There's a gov't sponsored place on Kingshighway in the old mall building that offers a 'sliding scale' fee.

They do fair work, but you'll have to take your tax papers, etc to apply.

The drawback is that they do unnecessary full mouth X-rays EVERY time you visit, and they cost $60 each.

SEMO Health Network is GREAT! They offer the sliding fee, but usually it costs about $40. I'm not very familiar with the Sikeston office, but I go to their office in Bernie. They are very willing to help and will work with you. I have insurance and my treatments were going to cost more, but the dentist was very good about offering me options that were more cost-effective. Two other dentists tried to send me to an oral surgeon without doing anything but an exam themselves. At SEMO, they recommended that I go to an oral surgeon, but after a thorough exam, he decided he would be able to pull a couple of my teeth himself (which is a heck of a lot cheaper than having them surgically extracted), then send me to the oral surgeon to take care of the work he wasn't able to do.

Excuse the smartasses rude comments. And welcome to the area. Hope you didn't leave a place you liked for here. Semo is a great place to go. Cape has alot more to offer as well.

And just how do you figure that "Problem Solver"??? I have a job (working 60+ hours per week), and I have both primary and secondary insurances (NEITHER OF WHICH ARE GOVMERNMENT FUNDED) and I still have to pay. What do you know that the rest of us don't? Please enlighten us.

I'm sure that Problem "Solver" is most likely a state or federal employee (who doesn't realize that most of us who are employed at real jobs and AREN'T employed by our tax dollars) and gets dental insurance for a mere $4 a paycheck. Must be nice to see benefits that are funded by people working for entrepreneurs.

You, my dear, have a shitty attitude. While we are looking for better jobs, you should consider looking for a life.
