I have known doctors who had busy practices ... but this one takes the cake. Over the past year, I repeatedly have had to wait 2 to 4 hours after my appointment time to see this man....absolutely rediculous !! In the waiting room, there are some I know as drug dealers openly discussing selling their prescriptions for percasets, hydrocodone, and other medications they get there. People without appointments are given priority over those with appointments and this is a cruel joke. If you are in need of drugs to sell, it would appear that Sugarbaker and this clinic is the place to get a supply. I told him directly of one patient who approached me, and later called my home wanting to by my prescription, along with notifying his office manager ... they both seemed concerned, but the woman and her daughter are still patients as usual, along with one of her drug dealing friends. I think someone should investigate. The local police seem to turn a blind eye towards them, but if enough of the "real" patients walk out and explain why, then, maybe they'll learn how to manage a business and keep appointments, as well as not be a sorce for druggies. It's backfired on doctors before, and it well may backfire on Sugarbaker and his staff too. When a previous doctor with this "clinic" failed to play ball on the sweetheart deal, he was asked to leave, which he did. Dr. Graham would not prescribe without medical justification other than asking what do you need.

They'll even tell you where to get the best price on what you want to sell, increasing your profit, or give the generic form so your dollar stretches farther and gives you more profit, as well as lining his pocket with Medicare and Medicaid money he collects on every visit to the tune of $85 or more. I'd rather have his job than a license to steal .. because his makes more money with virtually no risk at all.

Anyone else have any horror stories like mine? I'd like to know so when I go to see him I can say that more than me is leaving and why. It took 2 days just to get a prescription renewed ... when at a "real" doctor's office you can have a renewal over the phone the same day. lmao ... boogershaker sux.

Yes this is true why they let a good doc go I have no idea but they did. I am a patient there and would change but its hard to find a doctor. People do sit in there and talk dealing drugs and when brought to the owners attention she again does nothing. And yes when you get there its usually about three to four hours before you get out busy or not. Excuse is always well the doc wasw late oh he worked thru dinner or my favorite you should have seen it this morning. There is no system there to get the patients thru with a decent amount of ease. I dont know that doc sugarbaker is in with just passing out drugs but I do know people cant wait to get them and go sell them cause they do discuss it right in the waiting room if you listen. I myself have major depression and blood pressure problems and other to numerous to mention but I still say we should only have to see the doc once a month and not twice either. Why cant ya;ll get it straight there Linda?

He is nothing compared to Dr roberts. I see the people that got to both of these Doctors and that is all that they want to do with them is sell them or get so messed up they couldn't even tell you who they are. If we want to cut out the drug abuse in this town we need to get rid of these Doctors. All of these people need help and everyone to pray for them!!!

I know Dr. Roberts, and he is a fine man, but he cannot prescribe certain meds that I have to have to survive. I have tried working with the police on this matter but there is no interest on their part, even though I can furnish names, dates, and medications, and have talked to LInda, the owner of the business, who was on the surface concerned, but just said "call the cops, they'll deal with it" .. I know some of the patients have commented about feeling like the police were monitoring them. I have nothing to hide from the police. I don't drive under the influence, and have a legal prescription for all my meds, and I don't sell mine, even though I'vd been offered $5 per pill or more. I use what I get and get what I need legally, and will not violate the law to aid a druggie. Dr. Graham that was there was great ... nothing like Sugarbaker. The nurse practioner is very good too, and shows real compassion and understanding.

Family First was investigated a year or two back when Shelly owned it ... my file was one the state copied ... even though I am and was clean. I hope they follow up and check really deep this time. If they're running a drug mill, close them b*****rds down, and hang 'em high.

Amen on that one sister ... once a month is plenty, but this is called "Milking the system" and digging for dollars only, and screw the patients, and their time, just bring us your money, we'll give you what you want and say nothing but thanks for shopping Family First .. your drug connection. You got the time, we got what you want , come on in, take your shoes off and stay a while.

Sounds like "Neutrality" has an axe to grind. He is a drug seeker that Dr. Sugarbaker would not prescribe to and was booted out of Family First.

Wow Truthful you have "Neutrality" pegged. It does sound as if he has an axe to grind. Also, Graham was not a good Doc. At least Dr. Sugarbaker is practicing medicine and seeing patients instead of hiding in his office.

As a patient at Family First Medical Center, I have to say a few things. Yes, I too, have also heard people in waiting room on their cells, talking to what I am guessing, "potential buyers"! That doesn't mean however, that the staff in way can hear it, because both doors are usually closed at all times. Do what I do, call them out on it by telling Dr. Sugarbaker and Linda. Julie is the one that is toxic to that clinic and it's patients! We are indeed all human beings that deserve to be treated with respect-NO MATTER WHAT!! I've overheard many things in that big opening with curtains now hanging up in it(it doesn't take the sound away, cuz patients can hear still), such as her behavior being discussed. Donna, is new, but has ALWAYS treated me very nicely, offering any and all the help she possibly could do for me and my kids! She's still learning the ropes, I know, but she's never treated us unkindly for one second! I just hope all goes well for the clinic, and yes, if there is any wrong doing with Doc Sugarbaker and the staff, then it should definately be investigated ASAP!
we will see

Personally, it is like a three ring circus there-definately not a professional medical clinic!! Patients should always, always come first, no matter what! I've seen and heard things that totally blow my mind there. If there were to be a DEA figure in there when all this crap goes on, I'd be safe to bet the farm, there'd be no more clinic for anybody to get their "MEDS"!

Contact the Missouri Healing Arts Board, ask for his records, Dr. Stephen P. Sugarbaker's medical License was on probation. He cannot practice in Mass. He has had his own drug problem.

I have not been booted out of Sugarbaker's office nor anyone elses. I do receive medication that I have been using legally and ethically for years for bone cancer, a painful condition that requires heavy pain meds. I have been approached by one of his patients wanting to buy my medications for $10 a tablet ... which would make me a drug dealer if I sold, and both the buyer and seller could go to jail if arrested for this. I told the doctor about it and he seemed very unconcerned, as long as he gets his fee for the visit f**k the patients and their waiting. But, not to worry. I will say no more. I don't care if the cops investigate me, my nose is clean, as are my dalings with this medical clinic.

you know your probably right, he is about the only one in town that will help people that needs the pain meds and just like any other doctor, he drops drug tests, so go figure, they werent expecting it, and guess what couldnt pass it, i think its hilarious, but on another note, he is a great doctor and does care, i was his last patient a couple nites ago, and was having blood pressure problems and had lots of questions, he sat with me for along time answering them and making sure it was coming down, ive had this problem for years, but since losing my mother, i have been trying to keep it under control, and he is the only doctor i have been to, that actually acted like he gave a dang, i dont get no narcotics, just what i need to try to stay healthy, and if its more than just a med refill you are coming in for, he is very informational, and helps alot, when you have no insurance and he does a lil here and a lil there so you can actually afford to get the treatment you need, thats a doctor that cares and is not in it just for the money, alot of these people are just mad because their pain meds are somewhat controlled, most only get them every 2 weeks so they can keep them under control, and as far as ms. linda, she is trying very hard to get her business as professional as anyone elses, hell look at it now, she has her hands full after what shelly left it in, i really appreciate all they have done for me, and hope they keep up the good work and only treat the ones that need it, not the ones that just wanna add to their addictions. thanks a ton dr. sugarbaker and ms. linda, yall are a blessing.
