The high school is having a Trunk or Treat tonight and the Outlet Mall Stores are letting kids Trick or Treat out there. Also a church on Ables road is having a Trunk or Treat.I live in an older neighborhood, not a bad neigborhood and I have always had great candy treats for the kids but it seems that the kids always want to go to the so called richer neighborhoods now where most of the time the homeowners just complain about it.

just wanted everyone to know that your tax money is paying for almost 20 police officers and at least 5 supervisors to be on "patrol" this halloween and nothing has even happened. stupid if you ask me! i bet that is a lot of tax money wasted.

Actually, two bikes were stolen out of a garage on Thornwood while family and friends were inside handing out candy. I know because I was there. You wonder why people stop handing out candy and turn out their lights?!? Brazen little bastards! Someone happened to see the 14 year-old thieves and they were caught! They were pedaling as fast as they could go and were scared stupid! Haha! The police were there immediately after they were called and got them. I bet the police department could fill up quite a few pages on Topix about the calls they responded to Saturday night. Just because it isn't in the papers or KFVS doesn't mean it's not happening. I'm glad the police were out patroling and telling those that were trying to trick-or-treat after 8:00 to go home! A big Thank You to Sikeston DPS!! I love Halloween and hand out candy, but I will definitely keep my garage door and turn out my lights at 8:00!

I think it is a wonderful idea to have them on patrol. Besides the brats that want to cause trouble, it is the perfect oppurtunity for some lowlife to snatch a child. It is a shame that we need to have this kind of supervision but I for one, am grateful for it.

Was it posted anywhere that it would stop at 8pm? We got a late start and was only out maybe 30min before a lady told us the police told her it stopped at 8, I thought maybe something had happened, we were with family on Kennedy and we had no idea.

If you woke up with your house tp'd or vehicles egged you would not feel this way, you would be griping about there not being enough police supervision.

I am sick of the 18 year olds in large groups being mean to the younger kids and showing up at the house wanting candy. I think the police did just what they should have.

It's a city ordinance.

We had at least 1 neighbor that did not give out candy this year because of the older "kids" knocking at the door last year. Trick or treating is for younger kids, not 16 through 20 something year olds.

Back when I was a kid I could remember going to one particular house to trick or treat and they had a home made casket set in the yard. You had to reach into the bottom part of the casket to get your treats while they played the trick of someone moving under a black sheet and moaning when you reached for your candy.

Scared the hell out of me, but that is the one thing I will always remember about trick or treating as a child.

We ended up having a great Holloween! A big thanks to the people who do still hand out candy door to door! My son is eleven and this is really the first year we have done this. My other is two. They both had so much fun!!!
