Even as Southwest Florida endures a housing slump, the company that developed Lakewood Ranch in Manatee County remains confident the massive development will more than triple its homes over upcoming decades.

Just what we need more houses sitting out there that will not be sold to drive the prices down on the vacant ones that are already in town that will not be sold. Well It will be nice when as you Lakewood Ranchers Say "those people" start moving in from the corridor of Manatee County to LWR to rent your vacant, foreclosed, weeded up homes for $1,000.00 a month. Well its not the beach and there are a lot of ponds, but at least you are glad that your neighborhoods are gated.
