We Democrats can only pray this passes and gets even more publicity...

The following is cut-and-paste from:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/30/okla...

Dave Weigel at the Washington Independent catches a bizarre resolution introduced by Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern (R) in Oklahoma, whose state legislature he describes as a "petri dish for wingnuttery."

The proposed "Oklahoma Citizen's Proclamation for Morality" would blame the economic crisis on moral collapse.

The resolution specifically cites President Obama's policies as well as his celebration of LGBT Pride month and his decision to end the National Prayer Day service at the White House as key causes of the current recession.

WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis; and

WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion,
pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and
many other forms of debauchery; and

WHEREAS, alarmed that the Government of the United States of America is forsaking
the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built; and

WHEREAS, grieved that the Office of the president of these United States has refused
to uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in giving recognition to our National Day of
Prayer; and

WHEREAS, deeply disturbed that the Office of the president of these United States
disregards the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior;...

We've had "a failure to commun'cate". My DILLIGAF refers to those cretins who think they can legislate this kind of crap, and to the fact that this is just more of the same idiotic muck which so often typifies legislatures these days.(You oughta see what AZ's up to!)

Granted, their lingo is a bit flowerier than is usual even for windbags, but it's still not a story on which I'm gonna waste even a bit of my life....

On the other hand, glad to see you!

What's Arizona up to? It apparently can't hold a candle to OK and MN!

How about that Michele Bachmann, anyway?

I get quite a lot of amusement out of these things. Here's the best part of a 1992 article about the Snohomish (Washington) Republicans:

"The state's Republicans received national attention last summer after their platform sought to outlaw abortion - and also witchcraft, channeling and yoga." http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/ar...

Yup...Seattle Times, not the Onion.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Capricorn

Someone is being very pedantic and picky, and they'll soon drive you round the bend with frustration. They're splitting hairs about all sorts of petty problems, but unfortunately you won't be immune from this yourself. You might get caught up in needless details that don't really matter, or take everything that happens very personally. Try to be more objective.
