Maybe nothing?

It seems there is clearly two sides to this.
My observation is that one side, some people are clearly hurting. On the other side, some people are doing just fine.

In these supposedly tough times, just look at the millions of people who continue to be able to buy
expensive electronic products like smart phones and digital cameras (there are long waiting lists on some models costing thousands of dollars). Why aren't these people affected by high employment , food, and gas prices or the housing market? There are millions of people like these.

So, there are two sides to this...we just need to figure out how to be on the side we want by ourselves.

Who is in office really does not seem to make any
difference for millions of people evident by their
spending. Look at all the tourists who continues
to visit Bisbee and spend money here.

The economy will continue to improve of course because Obama has us on the right course. Against the odds Obama has overall done a heroic job.

ON JANUARY 1, 2013, THE US GOVERNMENT WILL BE REQUIRING EVERYONE TO HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT FOR SS CHECKS.

WONDER WHY?

Subject: HR 4646

Be sure to read entire explanation

Watch for this AFTER November elections; remember this BEFORE you VOTE, in case you think Obama is looking out for your best interest.

A 1% tax on all bank transactions is what HR 4646 calls for.

Do you receive a paycheck, or a retirement check from Social Security or a pension fund and have it direct deposit??

Well guess what ... It looks as if Obama wants to tax it 1%!!!This bill was put forth by Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA).

YES, that is 1% tax on all bank transactions - HR 4646, every time it goes in and every time money goes out.

Ask your congressperson to vote NO.

1% tax on all bank transactions ~ HR 4646 - ANOTHER NEW OBAMA TAX SLIPPED IN WHILE WE WERE ASLEEP. Checked this on snopes, it's true! Check it out yourself ~ HR 4646.

President Obama's finance team is recommending a one percent (1%) transaction fee (TAX). Obama's plan is to sneak it in after the November elections to keep it under the radar.

This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution - banks, credit unions, savings and loans, etc. Any deposit you make, or even a transfer within your own bank from one account to another, will have a 1% tax charged.

If your paycheck or your Social Security or whatever is direct deposit, it will get a 1% tax charged for the transaction.

If your paycheck is $1000, then you will pay Obama $10 just for the privilege of depositing your paycheck in your bank. Even if you hand carry your paycheck or any check in to your bank for a deposit, 1% tax will be charged.

You receive a $5,000 stock dividend from your broker, Obama takes $50 just to allow you to deposit that check in the bank.

If you take $1,000 cash to deposit at your bank, 1% tax will be charged.

Mind you, this is from the man who promised that, if you make under $250,000 per year, you will not see one penny of new tax.

Keep your eyes and ears open, you will be amazed at what you learn about this guy's under-the-table moves to increase the number of ways you are taxed.

Oh, and by the way, if you receive a refund from the IRS next year and you have it direct deposited or you walk in to deposit that check, you guessed it. You will pay a 1% charge of that money just for putting it in your bank.

Remember, any money, cash, check or whatever, no matter where it came from, you will pay a 1% fee if you put it in the bank.

Some will say, oh well, it's just 1%. Are you kidding me? It's a 1% tax increase across the board. Remember, once the tax is there, they can also raise it at will. And if anyone protests, they will just say, "Oh,that's not really a tax, it's a user fee"!

Think this is no big deal? Go back and look at the transactions you made from last year's banking statements. Then add the total of all those transactions and deduct 1%. Still think it's no big deal?

I believe those who are doing well have always done well regardless
of who is in office. Same goes for those who are not doing well.
This is my experience of over 40 years in business.

You said the economy will continue to improve, but millions are
suffering now. Is Obama responsible? To me, no. He is not responsible for those doing well either. Fair enough?

Many of us will not agree with one another. We have our own
opinions. Liking or hating Obama or another politician of any
party will make no difference to me personally. What I do
for myself to adapt and change will make all the difference for me.

If you love Obama so much, please explain what difference has he
made for you.

For me, it makes no difference who is in office. We just need to
take care of ourselves by ourselves and help our neighbors as
much as we can. Arguing with one another here does not accomplish
much, unless we can inspire one another to think differently and
improve ourselves and contribute to improve the economy. When this
happens, we the people deserve the credit, not whoever is in
office.

Obama is in no way responsible for the mess we were in when he took office. He is the only reasonable player in this game. Mitt is more Bush, more wars, less for the needy. Mitt represents NOTHING and stands for nothing.
we are being bombarded at every turn by the mindless right. They have no argument, rather they resort to spamming everyone with divisive unsupportable and patently untrue crap. They blame all of the faults we presently have on Obama. To think that a good president can undo the works of the worst president since Jimmy Carter in 4 years while facing the most mindless opposition. The tea party cares not a wit for America or it's citizens, they want control. Their idea of control is not a good thing. Arizona is the perfect example of right wing zealots in the legislature.
I believe we are on the right track now. I care who is president because it does make a difference. Romney is in no way prepared to be president and it would take most of his term to figure out where the bathrooms in the white house are.
I favor one consecutive term of 6 years for the Presidency. Remove the politics from each term.

You did not answer my question. How have you benefited from having
Obama in office?

For me, nothing. When Bush was in office, also nothing.
That is the truth for me. I don't know about you or others.
That is why I am asking you.

For me, it is what I do for myself that makes the difference.
I basically just try to work hard. Trying to adapt and adjust to the changes.

A vote, no matter who you vote for, just seems too passive. We need to take care of ourselves.

On Behalf of Cow Patti, your trolling of whom has filled this forum with more spam than a buffet in Honolulu:

NOTHING: Obama's term in office has done almost nothing for me, personally.

I do not expect him to, as he occupies the office of the executive branch of the united states federal government.

As you may know, there are three branches of the this, the executive, the judicial, and the legislative. The latter is a bicameral body composed of two "chambers:" the house of representatives and the senate.

This last group affords us Arizonans the requisite representation at the federal level.

Your question would be better framed by asking what your local congressman or senator have done for "you," "personally" in their term, than to ask the same question of the executive branch.

I know it is fun to make the president the lightning rod one-man personification of the entire US federal government, and clearly, the president is aware that as a one-man personification of an entire branch of the US government, he is signing up to be a one-man representaion of the whole enchilada. This is why they call him a "Head of State."

In reality, though, on a day to day basis, this is not the case.

HOPE THIS HELPS.

I wouldn't put too much faith in SNOPES -- It's run by a liberal man and wife team out of their house. However, HR4646 was proposed and submitted by Representative, Chaka Fattah.

The OP is correct however, except that bill would replace the personal income tax in 2017 -- And I have a life size picture of the P.I.T. being repealed IF that bill were to come into effect.
