"these oil workers" are working for a living! They're not sitting drawing welfare, waiting for the next handout! They're traveling, some far from home, many leaving family behind, working to support their families, and some leaving homes they are trying to keep up payments on so they can live in an RV for now, so they can WORK. They are WORKERS, what most of this country as we know it was founded on--people who, either immigrated, or migrated for land, for work, and for both to settle this vast country.

And to top it off, neither of the SUSPECTS were oil workers in the first place! Waters works in construction, always has. He was a roofer, drywall finisher, concrete finisher, all manners of construction in Florida. Having changed his ways, been through therapy (for the hit and run), moved to Colorado with his sister to begin a new life, went through the classes it took to obtain his construction license, put the past behind him, was successfully starting his own construction business. This other guy, Spell, was recently hired to work for him.
When last Waters spoke with his family, business was doing well, and he was working steadily. Life was looking up for Waters.

What happened after that is unsure, at least from what little family members have been informed. They are not hearing much. Last phone call before to family members, Waters was working every day and things were looking up for him. New life, new place, no crime, no drugs.
Next time the family hears anything, Waters was picked up on the job, taken from work, and has been arrested. Kidnapping? He was clueless, but this is serious. Spell, on the other hand, was arrested later, after much talking, from what we been told and read. Sketchy details that have gotten back to Water's family say that Spell confessed, says that Waters was threatening him, and that they buried a body but doesn't know where. Meanwhile, Waters doesn't know what he's talking about, and according to family members, nothing was found in his truck but cigarette packs, truck documentation, etc. no dna or criminal evidence.
Keep in mind, Water's criminal past, while lengthy, consisted of traffic violations, penny annie stuff, failure to pay tickets, marijuana, driving on a suspended. The "criminal" type violation was the hit and run, yes, bad, but a far cry from kidnapping and murder, if you know what I mean. Way out of character for the man.
Spell, on the other hand, though younger, and fewer years in the criminal system, has a charge for sex without consent and attempting to sell marijuana to minors. Now, this is not traffic tickets. Do you see a glaring difference here in the types of crimes committed? traffic violations, pot, vehicular hit and run =vs= unwanted sex and drugs to KIDS.
I don't know, but have read that Spell may be severely learning disabled and mentally incompetent. If this be the case, is it not possible that he made the call and turned himself in and doesn't even realize exactly what he's doing? What if Spell actually committed the crime, but is shifting the blame over to Waters? Or what if neither men did any criminal activity, and Spell is just confused or wanting attention? There are many what ifs out there.
I don't know Spell. But I am acquainted with Waters when I lived in Florida. While he has made many mistakes in his life, he was raised rough and lived a tough life, he is NOT a cruel, heartless man. He is a sweet, loving son, brother, father, and friend. I find it very hard to believe that he could turn so callous and evil.
Look at the film when the two walk into the court room. Look at Waters' defeated face hanging down. Does he look guilty? Does he look evil? He looks whipped. Now look at Spell. He looks right at the camera, right in to our eyes. And it looks like pure evil. Think about it. Let's not convict the wrong person.

she did die for nothing. truly tragic. and if these guys did it, intentionally, as Spell says, they deserve the maximum sentence. it is not looking so good at this point. but, i still stay wait and see what the evidence presents. and, i still say that does not mean that oil workers are animals. again, these guys were NOT oil workers!
