This entire apartment building is creepy! It appears to be in shambles and the city should condemn this building like they have done with other properties in town. It is a blighted area and lowers the value of other homes that are near it.

Just because it is a wreck now doesn't mean it has to stay that way. It does serve a purpose, and has a certain amount of historical significance.

I would say that's a pretty fair thing to say. I would guess that at least 75-85 % of Auburn could be considered blighted. It's a part of the town's culture to look like crap.

Are there any books out there on these hauntings or others in Nemaha/Richardson county? Do any of these houses have tours this time of year? I would love to hear there history of these places.

No one has done a book about Nemaha County hauntings as far as I know. A lot of the really great old places have been bulldozed, so I don't know how much material would be out there to write about.

There's actually several. The apartments behind the post office are very haunted. It used to be a hospital with a morgue in the basement. People have seen blood dripping from the walls of the basement. The apartments on G street are haunted as well. There is a rental house from Bulldog that is extremely haunted, and I know this from experience. I had friends move out because it was so haunted. Things would fly off kitchen counters, voices and footsteps were heard and one of my friends even saw someone standing next to their bed. My friends were even scratched. There's also a very old house on O Street that is haunted as well. The resident's dogs have been let out and locked in their kennels. The residents have seen a man and a small child roaming the house at night. One of the residents has been scratched several times. That's all I know of. I'm sure there's more.
The apartments behind the post office are not haunted at all.. I lived there and just recently moved out.. Nothing ever happened!
