What a shame, shouldn't have been in that place on the bike at that time. Why do people (kids) think it won't happen to them. My sympathy's to the family and friends.

If not this kid the dolt would have pulled out in front of someone else. Too bad he didn't pull out in front of a semi.

Ohhh...So easy to cast jugement and throw stones, isn't it!! This family has had a huge hole blown wide open in their lives, a deep, gushing wound that will never fully heal...one which many, many human beings must try to not only recover from, but attempt to carry on somehow, and even now are still reeling from the shock...and instead of offering your condolences to help a hurting mother, father, sister, brother, cousin grandparent,or friend heal, you have the audacity to speak such simple words of destruction!! There's a very wise saying that says "even a fool when he keepeth his peace is counted as wise" you would be wise to open your mouth one more time just until your foot lands inside. Have a heart!

I feel so sorry for everyone in this accident. because no one wins. I should know, my future son-in-law was killed last year on the same day as
Leon. He was also on a motorcycle and a 90 year old lady hit him and drugg him for 25 feet before she came to a stop. Arguing and fighting will never bring him back. God takes people for a reason and we dont know why or what plan he has for us. It was an accident and instead of arguing you should send a prayer to the family. It is a sad day for everyone. And what is sadder is my nephew went to school with Leon and also played football with him. It's like living the nightmare all over again,my heart aches for them. Because we will still ask why and we will never know.

What happened is not his parents fault, nor leon's, Leon lived his life to the fullest, and he was one of the greatest kids i have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I wake up every morning and hope its all a horrible dream. Metal shop will never be the same without him cracking jokes. R.I.P Buddy, without u, northeastern seems empty, you will remain in our hearts forever. and for you people who disrespect him, don't you dare, you don't have the right to run your mouths and be so ignorant. How would you feel if your child, brother, friend, was snatched away, just like that. I am grately saddened for the families loss and wish them the best.

Leon was the most amazing guy i have ever met.no matter what kind of mood he was in he would still always try to brighten someones day. Leon and i shared many memories together good and bad and i will never forget any of them. i still remember and have the yellow fish he won for me because i wanted it so bad and i dont even kno why but i did so he wasted all his money just to get it me and on the last try he did. ill cherish that day forever along with tons more of our amazing memories.I love You Leon Mitch Travers and im missing you a great deal all ready. its still so hard to believe you really gone and ill never be able to hear your voice or your charming laugh again. Northeastern will never be the same and neither will i without you.Rest in peace sweetheart and ill see you again one day.i love you leon!<3333 June 6, 1993-March 27, 2010.

The truth starts to come out. Driving 54 in a 25, suspended license. I am glad he did not hit a small child when he crashed. Speed never killed anyone, it is always that sudden stop of hitting a tree, car or what ever.

Live life to the fullest and to hell with everyone else. What a way to live. His parents should have taught him better and if the rest of the youth is smart they will learn from Leon stupid mistake.

If he would have obeyed the law and not been driving he would still be alive and attending classes.

Leon was a good kid that always would treat everyone fairly. I rode dirt bikes with him a couple times and knew and liked all of his family. RIP Leon Mitch Travers

Hey it's so easy for you scum bags to cast judgement on on my nephew how about the 78 year old man that killed him!!! And for you morons that cant read he was doing the speed limit, but hey maybe your parents did not teach you any better which is why your on here spewing shit without knowing the facts!! I'm not defending his driving without a licence but the jack ass that killed him could not tell if he had a licence or not!

I have been reading most of the post from both articles and most of you are saying he was a good kid... Well lets look at the facts:

Caught speeding doing 54 in a 25 WOW thats twice the speed limit. This is wreckless driving.

Driving on a suspended license. Well I have to agree with Wake up. If he would have obeyed the law he would still be alive.

A good kid maybe but in the eyes of the law he's not

And yet another douche bag totally ignoring the facts! You state previous incidents while ignoring the fact he was driving the posted speed limit at the time he was killed!

You pass blame on the victim totally ignoring the reason he died. Remember, he's gone because the 78 year old man pulled out in front of him! Speed did not kill him, nor did driving without a license, Kenneth Wipperman killed him!

Every dog has it's day and when you have yours please remember how you cast judgement on ours!

For everyone else that has offered your kind words and prayers thank you! Also, for those of you who disagree but choose to keep your opinions quite, Thank you!!!

How dare you people sit behind a computer and judge him or his parents. Have you all forgotten that you too were once a teenager and did stupid things. Leon was a good kid but he like most teenagers (and most adults) made a bad decision that day. What about the old man driving that pick up truck? Should he still have been driving? I wonder what his driving history looks like.

My thoughts truely go out to the friends and family. But WHY is a 16 year old driving a motorcycle?!?! They are much different then a car...much more dangerous. What a shame.

If you read this article correctly it said that he was driving 54 in a 25 when he got pulled over on NOV. 8th. Speed actually does kill people. One of my best friends was in a car accident when someone struck him going 85mph. he died instantly. so dont go around saying that speed doesnt kill. wow people are so disrespectful

Although no one deserves to die like this, I have a feeling speed may have been the factor. The last I knew, it is 25mph through that area.

Speed was NOT a factor if people would pay attention. I'm really confused as to why people can't read the report that says NOTHING about him speeding! If he was, it would have said so!!! The guy pulled out and hit him, plain and simple... no ifs, ands, or buts!

I don't deny the fact that the boy shouldn't have been driving because he had a suspended license. However, that doesn't change the fact that a young man lost his life, and if he would have had his license, it wouldn't have changed the facts. The speed limit where he was hit is 45mph. I drive past there at least 5x a week. Second, no, you don't need an adult on a motorcycle permit as long as you have your regular drivers license, which he obviously did cause it was suspended. And finally, a man pulled out and hit him. Leon didn't hit the man, the man hit him. I am miffed that people can't look at the facts before they comment. As for Leon's family, my condolences and prayers go out to you in this hard time
